This is when the fantasy football season officially enters “survivor” mode, even in a normal year. Four teams on bye each week make fielding full, competitive lineups difficult. And that’s not even considering the impact of COVID-19 and potential postponements.
Although the typical fantasy manager shoots for the moon when it comes to trading, they’re often better served with smaller deals designed to strengthen your lineup for one particular week. You don’t have to fix the entire boat or make it look like new. Just patch enough holes to get you where you need to be: the playoffs.
The trade charts are not one-size fits all values, and the merits of any trade depends on your particular roster. As always, you should consult our many other trade tools, including the trade analyzer and trade finder tools in MyPlaybook. But the chart is always a good jumping off point.
A reminder that the numbers presented are not FAAB dollars, but rather a way to measure the trade value of any player. Just add up the totals on both sides of the trade in the proper format, and judge whether a deal makes sense in a vacuum.

There is only minor movement in quarterback trade values, with Matt Ryan slightly rising due to Julio Jones‘ return to health. But the biggest change is the addition of Tua Tagovailoa, who has been named the starter for the Dolphins in Week 8 after their bye.
Tagovailoa should be valued as a mid-tier QB2 for now, though he should be added even in single-quarterback leagues for his potential alone. If you’re in a superflex or two-quarterback format, go ahead and trade for him for something in the Derek Carr/Matthew Stafford range for now.

On our weekly waiver wire live stream on our youtube channel, a commenter asked if he should sell high on Derrick Henry. And the answer was yes. If you can get Alvin Kamara, particularly in a PPR league. Otherwise, it’s impossible to sell high. Seriously. You’d just be selling. And that’s a bad idea with Henry.
I know there’s purported optimism with Christian McCaffrey’s injury news, but reading the tea leaves, I’m expecting him to be out until Week 9, considering that the Panthers have a Thursday night game in Week 8. And don’t forget, the Panthers don’t have their bye week until Week 13, meaning McCaffrey is likely going to offer only four pre-playoff weeks of production. He’s still worth a ton, but his value decreases even as we get further away from his injury.
The Chiefs signed Le’Veon Bell after the Week 6 trade chart article came out, so the last chart valued Clyde Edwards-Helaire as a top-eight running back. And, despite his strong performance on Monday night against the Bills, his value drops precipitously because of Bell. I expect the veteran to siphon off roughly 8-10 touches per game, and potentially the goal-line work. Edwards-Helaire is still incredibly valuable, as any lead running back for the Chiefs would be, but his trade value is undoubtedly lowered.

Fantasy managers should try not to overreact to one game, but there’s no way around the fact that all Dallas pass-catchers need to be downgraded. Part of it is Andy Dalton, of course, but the Cowboys offensive line is injured and struggling, and the entire offense looked out of sync. Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb drop in value, and Gallup is off the trade chart entirely. I’d hold Gallup if I could, but he’s certainly not someone to target in the trade market.
Nor is JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has seen just 14 targets and caught 10 balls for 77 yards over the last three games, albeit with one touchdown. Smith-Schuster is incredibly talented, but he hasn’t been a focal point of the offense, even without Diontae Johnson. It’s difficult to value him any higher than a WR3 at the moment.

Nothing to see here. There are few tight ends worth trading for at this point. A healthy Jared Cook in the Saints offense barely makes the cut. That is all.
