Another week of NFL action has flown by and we’re just two weeks away from the fantasy football playoffs. This can be an interesting time of year for dynasty football leagues, as different leagues may or may not have a trade deadline. Many leagues that I am currently in and have been in, don’t have trade deadlines, but there are definitely some that do. If you’re reading this, you probably don’t have a trade deadline and this time of year you can really take advantage of trade offers in your league. If there’s a team that’s looking to make a playoff run and needs some depth, this can be a good time to trade some players off for future picks if you’re not winning now. Whatever your league settings might be or your current team situation is, here are some players I’m buying, selling, or holding heading into Week 12.

DJ Chark (WR – JAC)
After breaking out in his 2019 sophomore season with 1,000+ yards, 100+ targets, and eight touchdowns, DJ Chark has been a bit of a disappointment so far this year. He’s currently the WR32 in PPR scoring and is 28th in receiving yards with 493 total. Gardner Minshew has been dealing with a thumb injury and hasn’t played since Week 7 against the Chargers. Minshew clearly has shown that he likes to lean on Chark and take his shots downfield at him, and right now might be one of the last chances to get Chark before his price goes back up.

Chark has a very nice schedule moving forward matching up against Cleveland, Minnesota, and Tennessee the next three weeks. His playoff schedule isn’t ideal against the Ravens and Bears in Weeks 15 and 16, but either way, this might be the cheapest his price will be over the next few months. Chark is young and talented enough that I’d try to target him whether you’re winning now or rebuilding.
Verdict – Buy

Mike Davis (RB – CAR)
Sometimes it needs to be said, even if it seems obvious in dynasty football. Mike Davis has been a very nice surprise for fantasy owners as he’s stepped up more than anyone could have asked of him. He’s the RB8 in PPR scoring and continues to produce whenever Christian McCaffrey has missed time. That being said, many fantasy owners believe that Davis has proven himself and the Panthers will utilize him even when McCaffrey is back and healthy.

We saw McCaffrey back on the field in Week 9 against the Chiefs, and Davis saw just one carry, but he did catch five passes on six targets for 34 yards with no touchdowns. McCaffrey on the other hand, saw 18 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown, adding 82 yards through the air, catching 10 of 10 targets, with a receiving touchdown as well. If you’re trying to win now, I don’t mind holding onto Davis as the Panthers have one of the worst schedules moving forward against opposing rushing defenses. If you aren’t winning now, sell Davis for whatever you can get. As long as McCaffrey is in Carolina and healthy, Davis isn’t worth anything more than a handcuff. Especially on your dynasty roster.
Verdict – Sell High/Hold

Evan Engram (TE – NYG)
Next up is the fourth-year tight end of the Giants, Evan Engram. Through 10 games, Engram is the TE15 in PPR scoring leagues and is coming off a bye week, and has just 347 yards and one receiving touchdown this year. He did also run for a touchdown in Week 5 against the Cowboys. Despite being a bit of a disappointment this year, he is third in the NFL for tight ends in targets but is averaging just 8.7 points per game, which is 21st in the NFL for tight ends. Engram has a very easy schedule on paper moving forward this year, and with the way he’s performed so far, you can probably get a good discount on him.

Talent has never been the issue for Engram, and this Giants offense is currently 30th in the NFL, 29th in passing yards, and 31st in passing touchdowns. Most people are down on this entire offense, and Engram’s price tag is likely as cheap as you’ll see it. He’s still the TE9 in our dynasty rankings, but I’m sure many owners don’t even value him this high. He’s in a similar situation to OJ Howard a year ago, and I like to bet on the talent rather than the situation. Engram is someone I’d be happy to buy low on right now.
Verdict – Buy Low

Michael Pittman Jr. (WR – IND)
One wide receiver that I’ve liked out of this 2020 rookie class is Michael Pittman out of USC. The Colts have been desperate for playmakers on offense and given the age of Ty Hilton, the WR1 role in this offense is basically wide open. Pittman is 6’4 220 pounds and profiles as your typical WR1 in the NFL. He’s been hurt and is just starting to get involved. Over the last three weeks, he has 223 yards and a touchdown, catching 14 of his 18 targets. With all of the hype around these top wide receivers in this class, Pittman has been a bit overlooked and forgotten about, despite landing in a nice spot with Philip Rivers and the Colts. He’s not going to be a super cheap player to buy, but I’m doing what I can to acquire him before his production gets more hype and the price goes up.
Verdict – Buy

Alvin Kamara (RB – NO)
The last player I’m looking at this week is the best running back in fantasy football right now and that’s Alvin Kamara. He’s averaging over 25 fantasy points per game in PPR scoring and has been absolutely on fire. This isn’t a situation where I’d be going out of my way to shop Kamara, but right now he’s basically as valuable or more valuable than any other player in dynasty football. Our dynasty rankings have him as the RB2 behind just McCaffrey, and third overall player in our Superflex rankings. He’s also ranked higher than any wide receiver. Anytime a player has a price this high, it’s worth noting and considering selling high on him.

Prior to the start of the 2020 season, this was the case with someone like Lamar Jackson as well, the price just simply being so high. If you’re competing to win now, obviously it’s not advised to go off and sell your best running back, but regardless of your situation the pricetag basically will get you any player you want. If you’re not the biggest Kamara fan, but do own him, it’s worth looking around and selling him for a player of similar value that you might personally like more, and then some. I’m not saying go out of your way to just sell high on him for the sake of it, but it’s worth considering given the fact that you can virtually get any player you want out of him.
