FanDuel Projected Roster Percentage: Week 10 (2020)

Welcome to Week 10! The playoffs are fast approaching, so if you’re looking to build your pre-playoff bankroll, time is running short.

Each week, I’ll break down the projected player roster percentages at the top DFS sites. These figures are generated based on numbers pulled from full-slate contests, so they won’t be perfectly accurate, but they give us a good measurement of who’s popular.

Quarterback

Kyler Murray is close to chalk this week, so you should bet on him in cash leagues and against him in tournaments. His tilt with the Bills is already projected to be the highest-scoring game on the slate, and since safety Micah Hyde may not be able to suit up, Murray could be an even more valuable fantasy asset.

Behind Murray, Justin Herbert, Jared Goff, and Josh Allen should all be popular picks. Only Allen comes close to Murray’s salary, and he’s not a bad start — especially since Cardinals safety Budda Baker may also not be good to go.

That said, Goff is certainly the best value pick of the bunch. He’ll face the Seattle Seahawks, and they’re giving up the most FanDuel points per game (FDPPG) to the position (27.9).

Of the remaining names, Tua Tagovailoa probably offers the most value, as he’ll face the fourth-worst Chargers this weekend. I’m not very keen on Tom Brady after last week’s debacle; I’d rather see him perform well with his elite arsenal of weapons before I trust him enough for my DFS lineups.

Running Back, Wide Receiver, and Tight End

Mike Davis is, rightfully, chalk. After weeks of reliable production with Christian McCaffrey sidelined, his price dipped because of McCaffrey’s return — only for the star running back to get hurt again last Sunday. Davis is now thrust back into the starting gig, and he’ll face a defense that he posted 11.5 points against after McCaffrey got hurt late in Week 2.

Two other running backs, Aaron Jones and Austin Ekeler, are close to chalk here. That said, only one of the two (Jones) will play, as Ekeler is still on injured reserve. Jones has a great matchup against the Jaguars, as they’re giving up the sixth-most FDPPG to running backs.

Of the other running backs to crack the list, James Robinson should be a good start against Green Bay, as they give up the second-most FDPPG to running backs. While some FanDuel users might be concerned about the game script, the matchup is just too good.

We don’t have any receivers in the top two ranges this week, and the first three don’t come until the 20-30% range. We’ve got a range of options here — the boom-or-bust Jerry Jeudy, the high-ceiling Davante Adams, and the consistent Robby Anderson. None of their matchups jump out at you, and I’m honestly fading Jeudy this week — he barely practiced, and Tim Patrick should end up getting some of his targets. Both Adams and Anderson should be reliable options, however.

Of those in the 10-20% range, I’m a big fan of Robert Woods. The Seattle Seahawks give up the most FDPPG to wide receivers (48.6), and he’s in line to exploit them for a big fantasy day. You should strongly consider stacking him with Jared Goff.

As for tight ends, only Darren Waller makes the list, and it makes perfect sense — Travis Kelce is on bye, George Kittle is out, and Mark Andrews has been struggling. He’s a fantastic floor play this week. although you will have to spend up to get him.

Defense

We don’t have much consensus at defense here, although all but one of these teams have something in common — they’re favored in the betting market. Two teams, the Packers and Saints, are particularly large favorites. While I’m not a fan of Green Bay, as they won’t have Jaire Alexander this week, the Saints are a fantastic option as 9.5-point favorites. And since the Niners won’t have Jimmy Garoppolo, Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, and Deebo Samuel, they’re an especially nice target.

So who’s the underdog on this list? The New York Giants. They’re four-point dogs against the Philadelphia Eagles, and they’re not a bad pick here, as they give up the 13th-fewest total points per game to opposing offenses.

Personally, I would have to roll with the Washington Football Team here. They give up the 11th-fewest points per game, yet they get the third-most sacks per game, and the Lions’ offensive line has the 11th-worst adjusted sack rate in the league. Even better, the Lions can’t defend against the run, so Washington should be able to control the time of possession. They’re only $3,800 on FanDuel, and I would start them over any of the other units on this list.
