Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Week 12 Cheat Sheet (2020 Fantasy Football)

Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Week 12 Cheat Sheet (2020 Fantasy Football)

We’ve got some fantastic matchups on the tv this weekend! Are you ready for them?

I’m here with my quick-hitting thoughts to help you get ready for your fantasy matchups heading into week 12! If you’d like a little bit more in-depth studying, you can also find my weekly rankings here or my weekly fantasy projections article with projections and notes for every fantasy relevant player in the NFL here.

Here are some last-minute quick-hit items designed to help you live your best fantasy life in Week 12:

5 Players I Like More Than ECR

Daniel Jones: Jones has actually looked better here the past couple of weeks and he now gets a great matchup against the Bengals defense. Jones is QB15 in ECR, but QB12 in my rankings.

Austin Ekeler: Ekeler’s ECR (RB51 right now) will certainly rise by the time lineups lock, but I’m a bit more optimistic on him than maybe others will be even when the game starts. Ekeler is RB21 in my rankings and I believe that they wouldn’t have brought him back if he wasn’t fully healthy. He should see plenty of work in a high-scoring game.

DeVante Parker: With the news that Ryan Fitzpatrick will start this game, Parker becomes a must-play option against the Jets. Parker’s WR24 in ECR, but WR16 in my rankings.

Nelson Agholor: I’m not going crazy with Agholor here, but this is too good of a matchup for him to be ranked outside the top-40 like he is right now in ECR. He lands at WR36 in my rankings.

Jordan Reed: There’s not a huge difference here with Reed in my rankings versus ECR, but it’s worth highlighting. Reed is TE14 in my rankings and TE17 in ECR.

5 Players I Like Less Than ECR

Matt Ryan: With the news that Julio Jones is unlikely to play today, Ryan becomes an extremely volatile play. While he’ll have several key receiving options still on the field, he’s not the same when Julio’s on the sidelines. Ryan’s QB12 in ECR, but QB16 in my rankings.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire: CEH was heavily featured in last week’s game, but he has a tough matchup here against the Bucs run defense. If he’s not going to be heavily targeted out of the backfield, which he hasn’t been up to this point in the season, he’s going to have a hard time hitting his RB14 ranking in ECR. He lands at RB17 in my rankings.

Michael Thomas: Thomas is still a start-worthy option in my rankings, but with the QB situation in Denver, it’s possible that the Saints just run the ball 45+ times in this game. They may not need to throw the ball a ton, which has me adjusting my expectations for MT.

Hayden Hurst: With the news that Julio is out, plus the fact that Hurst is coming into this game with his own injury concerns, Hurst is moving towards a sit in my rankings. He’s TE8 in ECR, but TE13 in my rankings.

Noah Fant: Maybe ECR hasn’t had time to adjust to the fact that Kendall Hinton is going to be the Broncos’ QB this week, but Fant is still TE14. I’m not going anywhere near him this week and he’s down at TE17 in my rankings.

Desperation Pickups

Joshua Kelley: Kelley’s been insanely inefficient this season, but with Kalen Ballage looking unlikely to suit up, Kelley should see some work alongside Austin Ekeler. He’s a desperation RB3 play.

Jordan Wilkins: With Jonathan Taylor out this week, Nyheim Hines and Wilkins should handle the majority of the touches. Wilkins can be plugged in as a desperation option at RB this week.

Jakeem Grant: It’s not clear how much Grant will be targeted with Fitzpatrick back at QB, but this is a fantastic matchup for opposing WRs. Grant can be viewed as a boom-or-bust FLEX play.

Mitchell Trubisky: If you’re absolutely desperate at QB, Trubisky is only 4% rostered in Yahoo leagues and he should be able to do enough with his legs to finish as a low-end streaming option.

Tyler Eifert: This one’s not going to feel great as you plug him into your lineup, but there’s a chance that Mike Glennon keeps the ball close to the line of scrimmage and leans on Eifert this week. However, this is merely just a desperation play.

5 Receiver/Cornerback Matchups to Watch

DeAndre Hopkins/Stephon Gilmore: This is going to be a matchup that you’ll absolutely want to watch. Two of the best in the game facing off.

DK Metcalf/Darius Slay: This is another fantastic matchup between two of the best at their position.

Davante Adams/Jaylon Johnson: Adams lines up on Johnson’s side of the field primarily, so it will be interesting to see if the Bears adjust their coverage and help out the rookie corner.

Tyreek Hill/Sean Murphy-Bunting: Murphy-Bunting was destroyed last week by the Rams receivers, so how many receiving yards are we projecting Hill for in this game?

Justin Jefferson/Rasul Douglas: With Adam Thielen out, Jefferson will step in as the main receiving option for the Vikings. Can he go off in this WR/CB matchup?

5 Bold Predictions For Week 12

Justin Jefferson finishes as a top-5 WR.

Justin Herbert finishes as the QB1 on the week.

Austin Ekeler comes back and finishes as a top-15 RB.

Tyreek Hill scores multiple touchdowns and finishes at the WR1 on the week.

David Montgomery finishes as a top-12 RB.
