Kyle Yates’ Week 10 Thursday Night Football Projections (2020 Fantasy Football)

Are your fantasy football lineups set and ready to go? We’ve got football on the tv Thursday night, so you better make sure that you’ve looked over your matchup and have the right players in your starting lineup!

We’re continuing what we tried out last week and separating the Thursday Night Football game into its own article for you. This will allow you to clearly focus in on the players that will be active Thursday and subsequently this pushes back the publish date of my weekly fantasy projections article to Friday. This allows me to be able to have even more injury news at my disposal to provide more accurate projections and fantasy advice.

Additionally, if you have questions about where some of these players slot in in my rankings, you can find that information right here in my weekly rankings article.

Enjoy your football and make sure to check back Friday for a breakdown of every other game on this weekend’s slate!

__________

Quarterback

Indianapolis: Rivers wasn’t able to get much done against a stout Ravens pass defense in week nine. While the matchup here is a little bit easier for opposing QBs, Rivers isn’t worth trusting as anything more than a mid-range QB2.

Tennessee: Tannehill’s efficiency came crashing back down to earth last week against the Bears pass defense, but he still did enough to help lead them to a victory. Tannehill has another tough task here in front of him against Indianapolis, but he should still do enough with the receiving weapons that he has to be in the streaming conversation.

Running Backs

Indianapolis: This backfield remains a mess to try and figure out from a fantasy perspective. Wilkins received the majority of the carries in week nine, but he remained inefficient with his opportunity. From a projections standpoint, we have to assume that Wilkins will see the majority of the touches again in week ten, but with the three-headed committee in Indy, it’s all going to come down to which player gets the touchdown. Wilkins can be started as a high-end RB3, but it’s going to be hard to see how he finishes higher than that if he doesn’t find the end zone. Taylor was used at the goal line last week, but he wasn’t involved very much outside of that. Losing the fumble certainly hurt though and he’s a very risky start in fantasy football moving forward. Until we see a game where JT receives the clear majority of the touches, it’s going to be hard to trust Taylor as anything more than a touchdown-dependent high-end RB3. He certainly has a chance to score in this matchup, but he’s no longer a top-tier option like we assumed early on in the season. Hines continues to be involved as a receiver, but it’s not equating to much from a fantasy perspective. Hines is a fine fill-in option for bye weeks, etc. but he’s not worth starting as anything more than that.

Tennessee: Henry’s going to have a tough time against this Colts run defense, but he sees way too much work on the ground to move him outside of my top-5 RBs on the week. Start Henry with confidence in this one.

Wide Receivers

Indianapolis: With T.Y. Hilton out for this past game, Pittman was able to step up and lead the Colts in receiving in a tough matchup. Pittman is the future of this team at the WR position and he should be able to carve out a role for himself this season now that he’s back from injury. The Titans are a much easier matchup for opposing WRs and Pittman can be plugged into your lineup as a solid FLEX option with upside if Rivers can connect with him in the end zone. Pascal was able to put together a fine performance in week nine, but he’s not worth looking at as anything more than a low-end FLEX play with Hilton returning to the lineup. Hilton appears to be ready to play in this matchup, but he’s not worth looking at in this game based on what he’s done this season. He’s barely involved in this offense and he’s not worth starting if you’ve got him. Marcus Johnson continues to see a significant snap percentage and target share, but it’s failing to convert to much for fantasy football. He’s worth monitoring moving forward, but you can’t plug him into your lineup just yet.

Tennessee: Brown’s one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He’s earned his spot in that conversation with what he’s done this season. Brown now has six touchdowns in his last five games and has been one of the best fantasy wide receivers over that time frame. While this is a tough matchup on paper, it doesn’t matter. Fire up Brown every single week as a locked-in WR1. Heading into last week’s matchup against the Bears, I said that this game was the test for Davis. If he could continue to perform as well as he had been over the previous few weeks against the Bears pass defense, it was going to be time to move him into the “every week starter” conversation. Well, that didn’t happen. Davis gave you zero fantasy points in week nine if you took the shot on him and it’s going to be hard to trust him in this tough matchup. While I don’t expect Tannehill to struggle as much as he did against the Bears here, it’s still hard to trust Davis as anything more than a FLEX play in week ten.

Tight Ends

Indianapolis: Burton faded back into the shadows as Alie-Cox stepped up as the main receiving option in Indianapolis. Right now, it’s an absolute dart throw to figure out which one of these TEs is worth starting for fantasy football. Burton can’t be trusted in your starting lineup anymore.

Tennessee: Smith was able to find the end zone again – finally – in week nine, but he still was barely involved as a receiver in this offense. Good things happen when the ball is sent his way, but he’s not seeing enough targets to be trusted as anything more than a high-end TE2.

FantasyProjection Buster: Smith has the chance of finding the end zone every week, but the Titans aren’t giving him enough targets to make that a confident bet. If Smith doesn’t find the end zone, he’ll fall significantly short of my projections for him.
