FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 15 Saturday Slate (12/19)

FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 15 Saturday Slate (12/19)

We have some Saturday NFL action this week with two games on the docket. The early matchup features the Bills traveling to Denver to face the Broncos. Afterward, we’ll get the Panthers visiting Green Bay to battle with the Packers. Both games have a Vegas total of over 50 points, and while the weather is expected to be cold at both venues, there is no precipitation and very little wind expected, so the offenses should not be impeded.

FanDuel did a good job with pricing for the two-game slate, which makes fitting the puzzle pieces together for an optimal build is difficult. Of course, we want to jam in all of the Packers’ primary offensive weapons, but with their high price tags, you will have to pick your spots and find value elsewhere. Another day of NFL DFS this week, woohoo!

Cash Game Core

Teddy Bridgewater (QB – CAR): $7,300
Sure, I’d love to pay up for Aaron Rodgers, or even Josh Allen, but I think that quarterback is a good place to get some value with Teddy Bridgewater so we can pay up at other spots. While Bridgewater doesn’t offer much upside, he does give us a solid floor of production, as he has topped 20 FanDuel points in three of his last four starts.

The Panthers figure to be playing catch-up all night against the Packers, who are an eight-point favorite. The Packers pass defense ranks 22nd Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) according to FootballOutsiders, and they have allowed 232 passing yards and 1.8 touchdowns per game over the last five weeks. Add in a few rushing yards and a potential rushing score, and Bridgewater opens up the ability to get in some high-priced options at other positions.

Mike Davis (RB – CAR): $7,400
With Christian McCaffrey still out, Mike Davis will continue to absorb a heavy workload for the Panthers. His involvement in the passing game, in addition to his work on the ground keeps him on the field regardless of the game script. He has at least 17 touches in each of his last three games without McCaffrey.

The Packers’ run defense has been vulnerable this season, as they’ve allowed five rushers to reach 90 yards on the ground over the last nine games. They have also surrendered an average of one rushing score per game to running backs this season. With so many timeshares in the backfield for the four teams on the Saturday slate, Davis is the closest thing we have to a sure-thing to get high-touch volume.

Davante Adams (WR – GB): $9,500
By saving money at quarterback, we can jam touchdown machine Davante Adams into our lineups. Adams has reached the end zone in eight-straight games while tallying a total of 12 scores during that stretch. He has also topped 100 yards receiving five times in the last eight games. There is likely no one in the NFL that can cover Adams at this point, and there is definitely no defensive back that can slow him down this week. The Panthers have allowed 1.75 touchdowns (31st) per game to wide receivers over the last five weeks. There is no bigger gap at any position on this slate than Adams compared to the rest of the wideouts.

Cole Beasley (WR – BUF): $5,800
While Stefon Diggs is the primary wide receiver for the Bills, Cole Beasley has quietly seen double-digit targets in three of his last four games. He has especially been a go-to target for Allen during the last three road games for the Bills. In those three games, Beasley is averaging 12 targets while compiling 10.3 catches for 117 yards per game with a pair of scores. I’ll gladly take the $2,400 salary savings with Beasley compared to Diggs with the potential for as much if not more production.

Other Cash Options

GPP Stacking Options

Aaron Rodgers (QB – GB): $9,200 / Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR – GB): $5,500
While paying up for Rodgers in cash games is difficult, using him in GPPs is more manageable by taking shots on cheaper options like receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling instead of Adams. Valdes-Scantling has flashed some splash-play and big-game upside in recent weeks with three games of at least 17 FanDuel points over his last five games. Also, consider double-stacking Rodgers, who has thrown three or more touchdown passes in four straight games, by adding another secondary receiving option like Allen Lazard ($5,600) or Robert Tonyan and hope for a rare down week for Adams.

Zack Moss (RB – BUF): $5,700 / Bills DST : $4,800
The touch volume for Zack Moss in the Bills backfield has been hit-or-miss with Devin Singletary also involved. However, Moss did get 13 carries last week in a loss and could see an even larger workload this week against the Broncos if the Bills jump out to a lead as nearly a touchdown favorite. The Broncos have been gashed on the ground over the last five weeks, allowing 112 rushing yards (27th) on 4.88 YPC (27th) and 1.6 touchdowns (32nd) per game to running backs.

Look to stack up Moss with the expensive Bills defense, which ranks fourth in turnovers forced per game and should get a couple of takeaways against the Broncos, who have coughed up the ball a league-high 2.2 times per game this year.
