FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 16 Saturday Slate (12/26)

We have some more Saturday NFL action this week with three games lined up the day after Christmas. All three have a Vegas total of over 47 points, which should provide us with some high-scoring DFS options. The slate will require monitoring a few different injury situations, especially at running back in Miami and San Francisco.

So, after opening the Christmas presents, be sure to sneak away to start researching news and building your cash and GPP lineups for a fun Saturday slate.

Cash Game Core

Kyler Murray (QB – ARI): $8.700
Murray provides the highest floor and ceiling combo on the three-game slate, but of course, that also means he comes in with the highest salary. That said, building lineups with Murray at quarterback doesn’t prove very difficult with no high-priced running backs to pay up for. Murray has topped at least 17 FanDuel points in all but one game this season and has exceeded 27 FanDuel points eight times, including last week.

The Cardinals need to keep winning to make the playoffs, starting with Saturday’s matchup against the 49ers. In Week 1, Murray recorded 27.3 FanDuel points against the NFC West foe. He put up 230 passing yards with a touchdown pass, adding 91 yards on the ground with a rushing score.

Leonard Fournette (RB – TB): $7,000
It is not a comfortable feeling recommending Fournette as a core play in cash lineups, but here we are. He dominated the backfield last week without Ronald Jones, registering five targets and 14 carries — five in the red zone — on his way to 65 total yards and two scores. With Jones expected to miss another game, Fournette should continue to command Tampa Bay’s backfield touches in a great matchup against the Lions.

The Lions have allowed 116.8 rushing yards (29th) and 1.2 rushing touchdowns (30th) per game to running backs this season on 4.66 YPC (26th). With the Buccaneers installed as a near double-digit favorite, there should be plenty of opportunities for Fournette to provide fantasy production.

Myles Gaskin (RB – MIA) or Salvon Ahmed (RB – MIA): $6,600
While we don’t have a definitive answer on who will be the Dolphins’ starting running back, you should save a spot in your cash game lineup for either Gaskins or Ahmed. They are conveniently both priced at $6,600, so they are easily swappable depending on news leading up to Saturday night’s kickoff. Gaskin returned to practice Wednesday after missing the last two games on the reserve/COVID-19 list, so he could be ready to come back.

Whichever back starts walks into a great situation. The Dolphins are a small favorite against the Raiders, who have struggled to stop the run all season. They have been especially bad lately, allowing 138 rushing yards (30th) and 1.6 rushing touchdowns (32nd) per game to running backs over the last five weeks.

Mike Evans (WR – TB): $7,800
Evans has posted at least 13 FanDuel points in four of his last five games. He offers a solid floor and some upside in a favorable matchup against a Lions secondary that has allowed a 100-yard receiver in four of their last five games. They also gave up seven total touchdowns to wide receivers during that stretch.

I also strongly considered Brandon Aiyuk for this spot as a cash game core play. However, he does have a few moving parts around him with C.J. Beathard starting at quarterback and the potential return of George Kittle. If Kittle misses the game, I’d consider Aiyuk the fifth piece of my cash game core.

Other Cash Options

GPP Stacking Options

Matthew Stafford (QB – DET): $7,400 / Marvin Jones Jr. (WR – DET): $6,800
With Stafford getting replaced in the fourth quarter of the Lions’ last game and a “Q” currently next to his name, his rostered rate should be low on the three-game Saturday slate. However, as long as he is given clearance to start, he makes a great GPP play as a big road underdog in the game with this slate’s highest Vegas total.

While the Buccaneers are stout against the run, they have been vulnerable to the pass. Over the last five weeks, they have given up 355 passing yards (32nd) and 2.5 touchdown passes (29th) per game. The Lions’ target tree is pretty narrow with Kenny Golladay out, as Marvin Jones Jr. has 12 targets in three of the last four games. You can also consider a double-stack by adding in T.J. Hockenson.
