Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Week 16 Cheat Sheet (2020 Fantasy Football)

Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Week 16 Cheat Sheet (2020 Fantasy Football)

We’ve got some fantastic matchups on the tv this weekend! Are you ready for them?

I’m here with my quick-hitting thoughts to help you get ready for your fantasy matchups heading into week 16! If you’d like a little bit more in-depth studying, you can also find my weekly rankings here or my weekly fantasy projections article with projections and notes for every fantasy relevant player in the NFL here.

Here are some last-minute quick-hit items designed to help you live your best fantasy life in Week 16:

5 Players I Like More Than ECR

Leonard Fournette: It’s not a big difference at this time of the week, but Leonard Fournette‘s in too good of a matchup to overlook here. He’s RB14 in ECR and RB12 in my rankings.

Corey Davis: Davis has been extremely consistent this season and highly efficient. In a matchup that has a high over/under, plus the assumption that Tennessee will have to throw the ball a bit more than recent matchups, Davis is a fantastic play this week. He’s at WR22 in ECR and WR16 in my rankings.

Russell Gage: Gage doesn’t come with a high ceiling in this matchup against the Chiefs secondary, but he should see plenty of volume to provide a safe floor in championship week. Gage is WR38 in ECR and WR34 in my rankings.

George Kittle: At the time of writing, Kittle’s ECR is TE13. I fully expect that to rise as we get closer to kickoff, but I imagine I’m still going to be higher on him than ECR. Kittle is at TE4 in my rankings and I’m only sitting him if I have Travis Kelce, Darren Waller, or Mark Andrews. Even if he’s on a snap count, Kittle’s going to be too involved in this offense to fade.

Justin Herbert: Herbert’s bounced back recently and he now gets a matchup against the defense that Josh Allen just decimated in Week 15. Even if Herbert doesn’t have Keenan Allen this week, he should still have plenty of passing volume in a great matchup. He’s at QB9 in ECR and QB6 in my rankings.

5 Players I Like Less Than ECR

Myles Gaskin: Gaskin easily could come out and get his normal full workload. If that happens against the Raiders, even his ECR at RB26 is too low. However, there’s the concern that Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed split the workload in this backfield, which would cancel each other out. Gaskin is currently at RB32 in my rankings.

DJ Moore: Moore’s got a tough matchup here against Washington. He’s still a good play, but I’m a little bit more skeptical than ECR. His ECR is WR19 and I have him at WR21.

JuJu Smith-Schuster: After what we’ve seen the past couple of weeks from Juju and this Steelers offense, I’m very skeptical that he even finishes within the top-36 WRs. I have him ranked at WR36 right now, but even that feels too generous. He’s at WR32 in ECR.

Jonnu Smith: I’d love to buy into the narrative that Smith is back to being utilized as a key part of this offense, but I just can’t get there in championship week. He’s TE12 in ECR and TE14 in my rankings.

Russell Wilson: Wilson’s done next to nothing recently for me to feel confident playing him as a top-12 option in Week 16. He’s QB11 in ECR, but I have him at QB14 this week. Against the Rams defense, Wilson has the potential to finish outside the top-20 QBs yet again.

Desperation Pickups

Frank Gore: It’s not sexy, but he should see plenty of volume yet again.

Mitchell Trubisky: Trubisky’s met the criteria yet again for a desperation pickup. Against the Jaguars, he’s a borderline top-12 play.

Tyron Johnson: With the news that Keenan Allen will be a game-time decision, Johnson becomes an intriguing FLEX option with tremendous upside.

Jordan Akins: This is only if you’re truly in a pinch at the TE position, but Akins has a fantastic matchup against the Bengals and he’s become heavily involved in this offense recently.

5 Receiver/Cornerback Matchups to Watch

Calvin Ridley/Charvarius Ward: Ridley should draw some safety coverage over the top, but he has the clear advantage over Ward from a route-running perspective.

Robby Anderson/Ronald Darby: Darby’s been playing very well in his coverage this season and Anderson’s production has taken a dip recently.

Allen Robinson/Greg Mabin: The Jaguars secondary doesn’t stand a chance this week against the Bears WR corps. Robinson should have a big game.

Rashard Higgins/Bryce Hall: I was a big fan of Hall coming out of college and he’s playing well now that he’s getting playing time recently.

Tyreek Hill/Isaiah Oliver: I think we can all comfortably predict that Hill is going to win some people fantasy championships this week.

5 Bold Predictions For Week 16

Josh Allen will finish as a top-2 QB.

Russell Wilson will finish outside the top-25 QBs.

Calvin Ridley will finish as a top-5 WR.

Leonard Fournette will finish as a top-5 RB.

All three Panthers WRs will finish outside the top-30.
