RealTime Sports Fantasy Baseball DFS Picks: Thursday, April 15th

Apr 15, 2021

One of the best parts about playing fantasy baseball is that we aren’t limited to just season-long leagues anymore. Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) seemingly grows in popularity every year, and they’re a great way to enjoy the fun without committing to a six-month grind.

Below is are some of our staff’s favorite picks for the Thursday, April 15th slate of RT Sports’ daily contests, which you can sign up for by clicking here. Additionally, the full rules and scoring system of the contests are further down in this article.

Pitchers

The advice in this article is specifically for the 7 PM EST slate tonight, which means there’s only one starting pitcher that I’d consider.

Julio Urias (vs COL, $8500)
We always want to build our DFS lineups around starting pitching, and Urias is the clear-cut No. 1 option going tonight. He’s also the most expensive pitcher on the slate, but it isn’t by as much as I would’ve thought. Patrick Corbin and Merrill Kelly are nearly as much at $8200. Lastly, Urias is facing the Rockies on the road. That’s always a matchup we want to exploit. Urias is the biggest block of our lineups tonight.

Hitters

Wilson Ramos (@OAK, $2800)
I’m skeptical that Ramos is going to play tonight since he has played in each of the past four games. However, he has been tearing the cover off the ball so far this season and will have the platoon advantage against a struggling Sean Manaea. If he’s in Detroit’s lineup, then he should be in ours.

Chris Taylor (vs COL, $3500)
I’m expecting Taylor to be in the Dodgers’ lineup tonight since he’ll have the platoon advantage against lefty Austin Gomber. He could wind up hitting third for LA and we can use him at either second base or outfield, which gives us some versatility with lineup construction.

Vladimir Guerrero (@KC, $3500)
It’s clear to me that something special is happening with Guerrero this season. His plate discipline has been absolutely fantastic and he’s doing damage whenever he lifts the ball in the air. The 22-year-old is off to a scorching hot start (.390 batting average), which means I’m going to keep playing him until sites price him accordingly.
