MLB Daily Fantasy Primer: Monday (5/3) PREMIUM
Monday’s main slate consists of 10 games, which gives us a lot of variety to choose from. As always, our focus should first and foremost be on pinning down our starting pitcher targets. From there, we’ll target cheap bats on offenses with good matchups. We even have a Coors Field game tonight, which adds another notable game environment for us to factor into our lineup building.

Monday’s Starting Pitcher Strategy
My core philosophy when it comes to playing DFS is to build my lineups around high-end starting pitchers. It’s the most important position to get right when it comes to daily fantasy, and it’s nearly impossible to overcome a situation where your SP falls short of expectations. Innings pitched and strikeouts are just worth too many points, which is why I only consider aces when they’re available on a given slate.
Cash Game Recommendations:
Tyler Glasnow (TB) @LAA
The 27-year-old has been downright dominant in all but one start this season. Glasnow’s combination of run prevention and strikeout upside is exactly what we’re looking for when building our DFS lineups, which makes him the safest option on tonight’s slate. Glasnow’s K% and whiff% both rank within (at least) the 93rd percentile of the league. The matchup against the Halos certainly isn’t ideal, but I prefer focusing on a pitcher’s skills over the matchup, and there aren’t any aces facing a weak opponent on Monday.
