Saturday night features a seven-game slate without any slam dunk starting pitcher options. As always, I still want to pay up for arms in DFS, but we’re going to need to nail our hitting picks as a result. Luckily there are some notable offenses to stack.

Saturday’s Starting Pitcher Strategy
My core philosophy when it comes to playing DFS is to build my lineups around high-end starting pitchers. It’s the most important position to get right when it comes to daily fantasy, and it’s nearly impossible to overcome a situation where your SP falls short of expectations. Innings pitched and strikeouts are just worth too many points, which is why I only consider aces when they’re available on a given slate.
Cash Game Recommendations:
Clayton Kershaw (LAD) @LAA
As I mentioned above there aren’t any slam dunk options at starting pitcher tonight. Kershaw’s matchup isn’t ideal as we saw last night with Julio Urias what the Angels can do to a high-end arm. Still, he’s undoubtedly the best pitcher going tonight, which matters more than matchups in DFS. Don’t worry at all about Kershaw’s one-inning outing from earlier this week. When it comes to DFS we’re in the business of looking ahead, not backward. If you need an extra reason to start Kershaw then remember that he had rattled off five straight gems prior to that most recent appearance.
