Let’s get right into this week’s streamers.
But before we do, here’s how I did last week:
- Eric Lauer: W 0, L 0, QS 0, ER 3, K 3, BB 3
- Triston McKenzie: W 1, L 0, QS 1, ER 1, K 8, BB 1
- Touki Toussaint: W 1, L 0, QS 0, ER 1, K 5, BB 3
- Wil Crowe: W 0, L 0, QS 0, ER 5, K 5, BB 1
- Tylor Megill: W 0, L 1, QS 0, ER 7, K 5, BB 0
- Tyler Gilbert: W 0, L 0, QS 0, ER 2, K 4, BB 3
- Miles Mikolas: W 0, L 0, QS 0, ER 3, K 1, BB 3
- Total: W 2, L 1, QS 1, ER 22, K 34, BB 14
The Megill and Crowe starts really hurt us this week. I was on the fence with Megill or J.T. Brubaker and leaned the wrong way, trusting skill over matchup. It was great to see McKenzie have a gem, and the hope is that his shoulder fatigue injury that placed him on the injured list is just a manufactured way to monitor his workload the rest of the way.
As a reminder, we are looking for pitchers rostered in less than 30 percent of Yahoo leagues. Occasionally a recommendation will exceed that threshold if they are in a particularly favorable streaming situation.
Let’s get to it for Week 22.

Bailey Ober (MIN) at DET 4%
I really liked Ober as a streaming candidate for a while earlier this season. It didn’t go Oberly well (heh), but there is still stuff to like in his game, especially his fastball. He looked good in his last time out, which came against Boston, and now he gets a much easier matchup against the Tigers. Roll him out.

Austin Gomber (COL) at TEX 33%
He is slightly above the rostership threshold, but that’s OK. Give me Gomber here on the road in a fantastic matchup against the Rangers. Oddly, Gomber has a 5.05 ERA on the road and a 2.82 ERA at home this year, but the xFIPs are nearly identical.
Other option: Edward Cabrera (MIA) at NYM 28%
Wednesday, September 1
Kyle Freeland (COL) at TEX 22%
We’ll get these Rockies in before they go to Coors Field against Atlanta. Over the last month, Freeland has a 3.10 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and 31 strikeouts in 29 innings. We’ve reached the “Kyle Freeland can help you — for now” part of the season. Tune in next year!
Other option: N/A

N/A
Sorry, I’m not really here for the “Eric Lauer against the best team in baseball” streaming segment this week with the lack of viable options.
Other option: N/A
Friday, September 3
Tanner Houck (BOS) vs. CLE 27%
I feel for Houck, the person, as he has shuffled up and down from Triple-A. He is really, really good, and he should have a set spot in the rotation. With the back-and-forth movement, though, Houck’s rostership has remained under 30 percent, which makes him a great streaming option — assuming that he makes his next start against the soon-to-be Guardians of Cleveland.
Other option: Steven Brault (PIT) at CHC 6%
Saturday, September 4
Tylor Megill (NYM) at WAS 22%
Megill absolutely torched us last week, as you can see up above. That was against the Giants, though, and not the Nationals. To quote Michael Gary Scott: “No question about it, I’m ready to get hurt again.”
Other option: N/A
Sunday, September 5
Bryse Wilson (PIT) at CHC 1%
Wilson was one of my favorite trade deadline acquisitions for dynasty leagues, and so far, things have mostly gone well for the former prized Atlanta prospect. Wilson came off the IL and mowed down the Diamondbacks over five innings. They are the Diamondbacks, of course, but the Cubs are also the Cubs. They’re pretty terrible. I trust Wilson here.
Other option: Tyler Gilbert (ARI) vs. SEA 15%
