Fantasy Baseball Pitching Streamers: Week 25 (2021)

Tanner Houck

Let’s get right into it this week.

Here’s how I did last week:

Total: W 0, L 2, QS 0, ER 21, K 21, BB 6

Just an absolutely terrible week, and there’s really no two ways around it. That’s what we get this time of year, but we’ll do better. The Houck and Ryan starts at least saved us a bit. We’ll be more selective moving forward.

Let’s get to it for Week 25.

Monday, September 20

Tyler Anderson (SEA) at OAK 17%

The most exciting thing about Anderson is the stretch when he had a 6-9 record with a 4.20 ERA, making him the coolest player in the league. But when streaming, you don’t always need exciting. We’ll take a nice floor, and that’s what Anderson has given us for the majority of the season.

Tuesday, September 21

Alec Mills (CHC) vs. MIN 7%

I don’t really want to start Mills, but he’s the only arm here I could make an argument for. I’m only streaming him if I’m an underdog and simply must have an extra start. He’s been inconsistent, but the matchup falls in his favor here.

Other option: N/A

Wednesday, September 22

Tanner Houck (BOS) vs. NYM 23%

I’m reluctantly going back to the well here with Houck, but I’m started to get annoyed. He’s been a good pitcher for the Sox, but is still stuck at zero wins. Bad luck? Sure. Bad usage? Yeah. He isn’t going deep enough into the game most times out to have a chance at victory. I don’t love him here, but he’s the best option.

Other option: Josiah Gray (WAS) at MIA 27%

Thursday, September 23

N/A

You can go with Bryse Wilson if you really want, but I’m holding today due to lack of viable options.

Other option: N/A

Friday, September 24

Logan Gilbert (SEA) at LAA 28%

Robbie Ray has his tight pants on each time he takes the mound, but Gilbert had his big boy pants on last time out against the Red Sox, striking out nine in six innings. Gilbert has a sky-high ceiling, and I like him to handle the Angles with relative ease.

Other option: N/A

Saturday, September 25

N/A

I don’t like any of the eligible pitchers here, and while I don’t do repeats, Tyler Anderson would be my streaming pick here against the Halos.

Other option: N/A

Sunday, September 26

Chris Ellis (BAL) vs. TEX 2%

I can’t tell you a thing about Ellis, except that he held the Yankees in check his last time out. That happens and we move on. He was recommended by some smart minds in the industry, so it’s making me pay attention to him a bit. If I’m in a pinch and need a hail mary on the final day of my season, I’ll use him here against Texas. It HAS to be that situation, though.

Other option: N/A
