MLB Daily Fantasy Primer: Thursday (9/23) PREMIUM
Tonight’s main slate differs by daily fantasy provider. It includes five games, starting at 6:40 PM ET on DraftKings. Conversely, it consists of four games, beginning at 7:05 PM ET on FanDuel.
Thursday's Starting Pitcher Strategy
Aaron Nola is comfortably in the top spot in today's pitcher rankings. He's my preferred option in all game types at both sites. Luis Castillo isn't in tonight's slate at FanDuel, but he's my favorite SP2 on DraftKings across game types. Finally, Lance McCullers Jr. is a high-upside, expensive GPP pivot from Nola.
Cash Game Recommendations:
Aaron Nola (PHI) vs. PIT
Nola's advanced metrics have painted a prettier picture than his ERA, and they came through in his last start. In that turn, he held the Mets to one run on four hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts in 5.2 innings. According to FanGraphs, in his last nine starts totaling 47.1 innings, he owns a 2.90 xFIP and 2.86 SIERA that are markedly better than his 4.94 ERA. Thus, I continue to believe in his advanced metrics. Also, I love his 34.2 K% in those turns.
