TopPropFantasy Battleground: Week 11

TopPropFantasy Battleground: Week 11

Thursday is in the books, and the sweats have begun at TopProp Fantasy Sports. The best way to challenge your friends (or rivals) and add a new layer of competition, TopProp adds another dimension to traditional season-long fantasy leagues. Let’s take a look at our plans for Week 11.

TopProp allows users to create bonus point-based contests between two teams within your league. There is also the option to create a contest between two teams in a public or experts league. Now live at TopProp is the Battleground, an exciting way to create unique fantasy contests to enjoy. And remember to enter the referral code ‘FantasyPros’ when you sign up for a chance to win a signed Christian McCaffrey jersey.

TopPropFantasy Battleground is finally here.

What is Battleground?

TopProp’s Battleground allows users to create head-to-head matchups based on projected fantasy points. Similar to their team challenge mode, there will be bonus points assigned to the underdog, essentially creating a margin that the favored team will have to win by. Seem simple enough? It is, and that’s the beauty. You can issue challenges to friends, league mates, rivals, or the TopProp community as a whole. The league challenges were fun, but the Battleground has a chance to revolutionize the fantasy space, and we are excited about it.

Let’s take a look at the challenges we have created for Week 11. We have kept them as free contests so those who feel inclined can test out the new mode before laying down cash in future weeks.

For Week 11, I set up two challenges. AJ Dillon vs. Dalvin Cook and Brandin Cooks vs. A.J. Brown. I did not set out to pit players squaring off against each other in Week 11 for this week’s battleground. Rather, I scanned my personal rankings for Week 11 to identify potential head-to-head’s I could win based on projected fantasy points and matchups.

AJ Dillon is set to take on a workhorse role for the Green Bay Packers in Week 11. Kylin Hill should be sprinkled in, but as long as Dillon can avoid an injury, it should be the Dillon show in Week 11. He has impressed with his receiving ability this season and should remain a big-play threat out of the backfield both on the ground and through the air. He is not a better talent than DalvinCook, who is one of the best in the NFL, but has the role and projected gamescript to push him in fantasy points this weekend. The 1.5 point bonus points should help bridge the perceived gap, especially if the Vikings are forced to abandon the run early in their contest against the Packers. Dalvin Cook has been excellent this season and is always a threat to take it to the house any time he touches the ball. He has had 17 carries in all but one contest this season. If he can manage to match that number, Dillon backers may be in trouble. However, if he sees his rushing attempts drop due to the Packers pulling away early, Dillon may outscore him, especially with touchdowns are factored into the fantasy point equation.

Brandin Cooks vs. A.J. Brown is an interesting one. Cooks has been one of the top receivers in the NFL since he entered the league but rarely gets the respect he deserves. A.J. Brown, on the other hand, is still a fantasy darling but plays with a quarterback who is more than happy to pepper others with targets and leave Brown with just four targets (as was the case in Week 10). Cooks, on the other hand, has Tyrod Taylor under center, a quarterback who is known for his propensity to target his number one receiver mercilessly. And against a Tennessee Titans team allowing the most fantasy points to the wide receiver position, Cooks is a WR1 candidate for Week 11. Cooks has the ability to outscore Brown straight up this week but gets a sweet four bonus points from TopProp. That being said, Brown is a big enough name to entice some users to still tap him despite the factors listed above, making him solid potential bait for this Week 11 contest challenge.
