Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 15 (2021-22)

Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 15 (2021-22)

It’s Sunday, and you know what that means.

It’s time to get ready for another week of fantasy hoops.

Each and every week, we’ll look at players that you should consider picking up who are rostered in four different rostership tiers:

  • 50-60%
  • 30-49%
  • 15-29%
  • 0-14%

What’s more, we’ll give you a breakdown of how many games each team has for the upcoming week so that you can maximize the minutes of your streamers.

Without further delay, let’s get to it, starting with the schedule and offensive pace ratings, thanks to our friends at Razzball.

Four games:

ATL, BKN, BOS, CHI, CLE, DEN, DET, HOU, IND, MIA, NOR, OKC, ORL, PHI, POR, SAC, TOR

Three games:

CHA, DAL, GSW, LAC, LAL, MEM, MIL, MIN, NYK, PHX, SAS, WAS

Two games:

UTA

Rostered in 50-60% of leagues:

Bismack Biyombo (C – PHX) 53%

No Deandre Ayton means more time for Biyombo in the lineup, which is a plus for fantasy managers.

Over the last month, Biyombo is putting up 11th-round value by averaging 10.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.2 STOCKS per game.

Once the Suns are fully healthy upfront, his value will go away. But until then, if you need help with rebounds and blocks, look no further than Biyombo.

Rostered in 30-49% of leagues:

Luke Kennard (SG/SF – LAC) 44%

Kennard is stepping up big time for the Clippers. Along with Amir Coffey, Kennard has been playing big minutes for the Clippers and has multiple three-pointers in five straight games – including hitting five from downtown in a 23-point performance Friday night.

If Kennard keeps playing this way – especially hitting key shots from downtown – the Clippers should continue to play him in the upper-20s to lower-30s per night.

De’Anthony Melton (PG/SG – MEM) 43%

It’s always hard to predict how the Grizzlies are going to use their depth when it comes to their rotation. Melton is a hot potato in fantasy, as he’ll bounce back and forth from the waiver wire.

It may be time to have him bounce back on your team, though.

Following two really good games with good minutes, Melton put up a stinker Wednesday, scoring seven points (he did have three steals) in 24 minutes. It was great seeing Memphis go back to him Friday night, as he put up a full line (13/9/6) in 28 minutes.

The run of solid minutes is encouraging for Melton and enough to put him back on fantasy radars.

Rostered in 15-29% of leagues:

Nicolas Batum (SF/PF – LAC) 28%

Batum is really inconsistent, but he’s been more solid than not lately for the injury-riddled Clippers.

Batum is worth picking up and streaming as long as the Clippers continue to be riddled with injuries. Over the last two weeks, he’s putting up top 50 numbers.

Nic Claxton (C – BKN) 29%

Another Nicolas here in this section. Claxton is getting ramped back up for the Nets after his hamstring injury. When healthy – and given the opportunity – we’ve seen the upside from Claxton.

He has the ability to put up top 50-60 numbers for Brooklyn, and there’s no real, true competition for Claxton that hasn’t been relevant since 2018.

He’s a sneaky add here with huge upside for teams down the stretch.

Rostered in 0-14% of leagues:

KJ Martin (SF – HOU) 6%

Houston could be big-time sellers at the deadline, which means a great opportunity lies ahead for Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, and Martin.

Sengun and Green are known and rostered already, but Martin’s flying under the radar.

Over the last two weeks, he’s been the 106th-ranked player in fantasy, and in his last three games, Martin has 44 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, and five STOCKS.

With just a couple of weeks until the deadline, you can beat the rush by grabbing him now.

Isaiah Jackson (PF – IND) 3%

Another trade deadline stash is Jackson. During my category analysis piece, I wrote it before knowing Domantas Sabonis was back in the Pacers’ lineup, and then Goga Bitadze got hurt.

If Sabonis can stay healthy and is dealt at the deadline, Jackson could be a big benefactor in Indianapolis.

We saw Friday night that Jackson didn’t play, so this is strictly a gamble in hopes that Sabonis is dealt or that they shut him down down the stretch. In his last game, Jackson dropped a 17/4/2 line with two STOCKS.
