It’s always an interesting exercise to go back in time a year and evaluate what ADP (Average Draft Position) looked like at a certain position. While there are minor changes and fluctuations at QB and TE, there was some major movement this past season with how the RBs were valued in Dynasty leagues.
According to Dynasty League Football’s January Startup ADP, Christian McCaffrey was still the No. 1 RB off the board. Additionally, Saquon Barkley was still being drafted as a top-5 RB, JK Dobbins was a top-10 RB, and even Clyde Edwards-Helaire was still hanging around inside the top-12. Now, those players are nowhere near those spots in Dynasty startup ADP and it just goes to show how much can change year-to-year in fantasy football.
As a fantasy analyst, part of the job in evaluating the Dynasty landscape is trying to forecast and predict when these drops and shifts can happen. Just because a player finished as a top-tier option in 2021 doesn’t mean that they’re set to repeat in 2022 and beyond, so that has to be taken into account with our rankings. With that in mind, I’ve listed out below my top-12 Dynasty RB Rankings below with notes for my reasoning. What do you agree with or what would you do differently? Let me know on Twitter!
