Kenyan Drake didn’t practice (ankle) at Raiders’ minicamp

Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports that Las Vegas RB Kenyan Drake was unable to participate in the team’s June minicamp as he continues to recover from a broken ankle that he suffered in early December. (Source: Vic Tafur, The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact: It remains to be seen if Drake will be ready for training camp, but when healthy, Drake will join a crowded Raiders backfield after multiple offseason additions. Drake will be competing for playing time with Josh Jacobs, Brandon Bolden, Ameer Abdullah, and rookie Zamir White. In recent seasons the Raiders have heavily relied on starting RB Josh Jacob while other RBs have been mixed in to spell Jacobs, but this season the team is expected to utilize an RB committee under new HC Josh McDaniels. Fantasy managers will need to monitor this backfield during training camp to see where Drake falls within the Raiders RB pecking order to get a better sense of what his true fantasy value will be.

Jahan Dotson impressed at Commanders’ minicamp

ESPN’s John Keim reports that Washington Commanders’ rookie WR Jahan Dotson has looked “sharp” in minicamp and that he “has been able to develop a solid connection with QB Carson Wentz.” (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Dotson, who was a 1st round pick in April’s NFL Draft, was viewed by draft experts as one of the most pro-ready WR prospects who should be able to contribute early in his career. Dotson has been labeled by draft experts as a polished route runner with an impressive catch radius and strong hands. ESPN’s John Keim cited Dotson’s ability to attack defenders’ leverage and use it against them as a strength that has allowed him to separate from veteran CBs throughout minicamp. Dotson should see the field early and often in 2022, but if his teammate, WR Terry McClaurin, continues to hold out for a new contract or if he’s traded then Dotson could find himself in a position where he could be the team’s number one WR as a rookie.

Jalen Ramsey has shoulder surgery

Los Angeles Rams CB Jalen Ramsey underwent surgery on his shoulder after playing all of last season with a tear in each shoulder, according to Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Ramsey has been one of the league’s premier cornerbacks for half a decade and had successful surgery to repair both his shoulders. Despite playing with tears in both shoulders, Ramsey tied a career high in interceptions with four and set career highs with 77 total tackles and nine tackles for loss with the Los Angeles Rams. He was also named to his third Associated Press All-Pro team. The Rams defense finished second in the league with 17 touchdowns allowed and third with 19 interceptions. At full health, Ramsey will continue to bolster a strong Rams defense.

Larry Ogunjobi to sign with Steelers

Free agent DT Larry Ogunjobi has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Ogunjobi has been one of the more under-the-radar free agent targets for teams this off-season, but he finally finds himself a home in Pittsburgh. The veteran defensive tackle was effective in Cincinnati last season, notching multiple sacks and being a solid contributor to a surprisingly good Bengals defense. He will continue his career as a Steeler, and this does nothing more than provide a nice boost for Pittsburgh’s defensive line.
