Ian Kennedy (RP) – Calf
Kennedy was placed on the 15-day IL with right calf inflammation. What was initially described as cramping, Kennedy was diagnosed with inflammation and will now be out for at least 15 days before being reevaluated,
Atlanta Braves
Kenley Jansen (RP) – Chest
Jansen has had his irregular heartbeat issues reappear and was placed on the IL as he deals with it. He has still been able to throw bullpen sessions and expects to be activated from the IL once he is first eligible on July 12th.
Boston Red Sox
Rich Hill (SP) – Knee
Hill landed on the IL after awaiting MRI results on his knee that he injured during his last start. Hill is optimistic he can return in two-to-six weeks after the MRI revealed some tears in his knee.
Cleveland Guardians
Oscar Gonzalez (OF) – Abdomen
After being held out of the lineup for two consecutive days, Gonzalez was placed on the 10-day IL with a right intercostal strain. He will be shut down from baseball activities for a week and reevaluated closer to the end of his stint.
Detroit Tigers
Austin Meadows (OF) – Achilles
After being cleared from COVID, Meadows was shifted to the 10-day IL as he deals with a double Achilles strain. The severity is unclear, and he is without a timetable for a return.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Chris Taylor (2B, SS, 3B, OF) – Ankle
Taylor is set to undergo further imaging on his ankle after he exited his last game with swelling. He is slated to be out a few weeks and does not have a clear timetable for his return.
Miami Marlins
Jazz Chisholm (2B, SS) – Back
Jazz was placed on the IL as he deals with a lower-back strain. Chisholm had bounced in and out of the lineup before the Marlins made the official move. A two-week recovery has been labeled as “optimistic.”
Jorge Soler (OF) – Back
Soler was diagnosed with bilateral pelvis inflammation after being a late scratch from Wednesday’s game against the Cardinals. The Marlins are optimistic he will only miss the minimum amount of time.
Milwaukee Brewers
Adrian Houser (SP) – Elbow
Houser was placed on the 15-day IL with a right flexor strain. Due to the labeling of the injury, Houser is expected to miss more than 15 days and will be reevaluated after his shut-down period has ended.
Philadelphia Phillies
Zach Eflin (SP) – Knee
Elfin was placed on the IL last Tuesday with a knee injury. After meeting with reporters, he stated that he was hopeful he would be able to return after the minimum 15 days required.
San Francisco Giants
Anthony DeSclafani (SP) – Ankle
Disco is slated to undergo ankle surgery on July 12th, ending his 2022 season. He was hopeful that it wouldn’t require the season-ending surgery, but the Giants decided he needed the procedure done.
Washington Nationals
Juan Soto (OF) – Calf
Soto was removed from his last game dealing with left calf soreness. Although the MRI did not reveal any issues in the area, he was held out of Monday’s game, hoping the rest would help with the recovery.
