Aaron Rodgers’ ayahuasca use did not violate league’s policies

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, who opened up about his use and experience with the hallucinogenic drug ayahuasca during an offseason trip in 2020, is not considered to be in violation of the NFL’s drug policies, according to ESPN. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Rodgers recalled his experience as life-changing and believes it helped pave the way toward his recent successes and the revitalization of his career. After that offseason, Rodgers won consecutive MVP awards and finished as the QB2 and QB5, respectively, in fantasy. Fortunately for the Packers, the news of Rodgers’ excursion won’t cause him to lose any playing time, but with the roster’s offensive turnover, it’s expected that Rodgers’ numbers will regress in 2022. He is currently going as the QB11 on average, according to FantasyPros.

Treylon Burks working through ‘learning curves’

According to Mike Herndon of PaulKuharksy.com, rookie WR Treylon Burks has been working through some rookie growing pains as he works with the 2s and 3s in camp. However, Herndon says Burks has still largely been impressive. (Source: Mike Herndon on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Burks was drafted out of Arkansas in the first round essentially as the Tennessee Titans’ A.J. Brown replacement. His offseason has had ups and downs with splash plays and conditioning concerns, but Tennessee’s receiving room is largely open for the taking. If Burks can continue to impress and learn from his early struggles, he could be in line for a strong rookie campaign.

James Robinson working with the first team

According to John Shipley of Jaguar Report, Jacksonville Jaguars RB James Robinson took part in his first team drills of the offseason and was working with the first-team offense. (Source: John Shipley, Jaguar Report)

Fantasy Impact: After a 1,000-yard season as an undrafted rookie, Robinson’s sophomore season was cut short after an Achilles injury. He surprisingly dodged the PUP list to start the 2022 season, and during his first practice running team drills, he worked with the Jaguars’ first team. Robinson had only been doing individual drills to this point. While he’s not back at full speed and contact yet, this is a sign that Robinson’s return is likely closer than further away. Robinson, at an average PPR draft position of RB36, could potentially eat into RB Travis Etienne’s ceiling with an impending return to the field, increasing Etienne’s risk at RB21.

Carson Wentz’s accuracy issues continue

Carson Wentz has continually struggled with his accuracy throughout the start of camp, routinely bricking passes in various directions, The Athletic reports. (Source: The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact: After battling accuracy issues his entire career in both Philadelphia and Indianapolis, it seems they have now followed Wentz to Washington, as well. Multiple reports have come out of camp highlighting the quarterback’s inaccuracy. Even during drills where it’s just him throwing to an open receiver with no defense on the field, Wentz has struggled to put the ball on the money. Despite the QB’s struggles, though, head coach Ron Rivera stated he and the Commanders aren’t overly concerned being that it’s early on in camp and Wentz is still in the midst of learning a new system. Still, anytime a QB is finding it difficult to consistently find his open receiver, there’s going to be some eyebrows raised. Wentz is going undrafted in single QB leagues and should be considered no more than a QB2 for super-flex.
