Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks (undisclosed) exited practice early on Wednesday, according to Jim Wyatt of the team’s official website. (Source: Jim Wyatt on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: After struggling during Week 1 of the preseason, Burks turned in a good practice on Wednesday. However, it was stopped short due to injury. He currently ranks 45th among wideouts in the latest ECR.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that RB Ken Walker III is undergoing a “procedure” but that it is separate from his hernia issue that was reported yesterday. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Walker started the team’s preseason game last week where he had six touches for 30 yards. The amount of action Walker is going to see during the regular season isn’t exactly known, but these injury issues may hold him back to start the year. Carroll maintained optimism on Walker’s status, however, saying that the team has a chance to get him back quickly. Seattle’s Week 2 preseason game is on Thursday as they host the Chicago Bears.
Romeo Doubs has been rising up the Packers’ depth chart as he continued create a lot of buzz in training camp according to ESPN.com’s Rob Demovsky. (Source: Rob Demovsky, ESPN.com)
Fantasy Impact: Doubs has already created great chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers who has consistently connected with the rookie in practice. Allen Lazard has become the de facto WR1 in Green Bay since they traded Davonte Adams to Las Vegas but Doubs could rise as high as WR2 in certain offensive sets. Green Bay does not have an elite WR1 with the loss of Adams, but Lazard, Doubs, Sammy Watkins, and Randall Cobb, along with the now healthy rookie Christian Watson, give Rodgers more quality options, top to bottom, than he has ever had. Doubs currently has an ADP of 161 but has WR2 potential and could be one of the steals of the draft for fantasy managers who are savvy enough to take him late.
Steelers rookie WR Calvin Austin III has been spotted with a walking boot on his left foot. (Source: Brian Batko on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Austin hasn’t been practicing lately, and he has presumably sustained some kind of injury to his left foot or ankle. Coach Mike Tomlin didn’t offer an update on the rookie, but it can be presumed that it’s not just a minor injury. He may miss some time, and that significantly hurts his chances at earning a key role on this offense. His injury situation is worth monitoring for fantasy managers.
