Rookie Falcons wide receiver Drake London has been using every bit of his 6’4″ frame to “create separation” and look “dominant” early in camp according to Falconswire.com’s Dean Worley. (Source: Dean Worley, Falconswire.com)
Fantasy Impact: The 8th pick in April’s NFL Draft, London enters the season expected to be the #2 receiving threat behind tight end Kyle Pitts (4th overall pick, ’21) after signing a guaranteed four-year deal worth $21.53 million. It is a good sign for the USC-product to be aggressive and willing to meet the ball at its highest point this early on. If he and Marcus Mariota can continue to develop a rapport, he is more than capable of going up over guys in the end zone as he has proven with some fantastic catches in camp. He has all the physical and opportunity makings of a potential Draft Day sleeper in most formats, especially Dynasty leagues.
Chargers rookie RB Isaiah Spiller was reportedly taking first-team reps at camp. (Source: Taylor Bisciotti on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Spiller is reportedly the only Chargers running back other than Austin Ekeler to have received first-team reps in camp, so it sounds like he is firmly the Chargers No. 2 running back at the moment. Spiller is a very intriguing double digit round target in fantasy drafts this season and he could even offer standalone RB2/flex value.
It is possible rookie RB Tyrion Davis-Price takes on a short-yardage and goal-line role out of the 49ers backfield this season. (Source: ESPN.com)
Fantasy Impact: This comes from ESPN’s Nick Wagoner who said “ideally” Davis-Price takes on this type of role. He is a bigger back than Elijah Mitchell, so it would make sense for that role. It sounds like while Mitchell leads the 49ers backfield on paper, Kyle Shanahan will continue to run a committee style approach to the San Francisco backfield.
