With week one completed, we turn our eyes to week two of the NFL preseason and start our journey with a single-game slate for DFS. This football battle is between the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks. This game provides a ton of storylines, as well as some exciting plays to put in our lineups. Let’s remember that Week two is when we explore the starters more in-depth than in other preseason games. That said, you should see a few more names you recognize on the field this week. Let’s break down the best plays between these two teams for your DFS single-game showdown slate.

Fantasy Football Redraft Draft Kit

Chicago Bears Analysis

The Chicago Bears enter this game with a new coach learning his way, a young quarterback trying to find his way, and a slew of wide receivers dealing with injuries. So, where do we look for the DFS advantage? Well, the best spot is running back. The Seahawks allowed the second most DraftKings fantasy points to the position last season. They also allowed the most receiving yards to the RB position and the seventh most rushing touchdowns to the position. This stat will enable you to take advantage of the matchups in multiple avenues. With reports stating that David Montgomery will see only 6-10 snaps if he plays in this matchup, your best bets for your lineup are Khalil Herbert & Trestan Ebner. In Week One, Herbert had seven carries, while Ebner had six carries. With Montgomery possibly missing the game, using both backs could prove helpful to your lineups.

The passing game for the Bears is a bit more convoluted. With Darnell Mooney most likely not seeing a high share count in the preseason, Bryon Pringle suffering from a quadriceps injury, and Velus Jones also struggling with injury issues, the only veteran “trustworthy” option is Equanimeous St. Brown. The August camp reports praise St. Brown in the red zone and can be an excellent way to stack Justin Fields in your Showdown Slate lineup.

Another route you can go is a tight end, as the Seahawks allowed the eighth most DraftKings points to the TE position last season. The issue here is the dart throw component due to the injuries that their tight end room is facing. With James O’Shaughnessy returning to practice Monday within this banged-up TE core, he shall be the dart throw flyers to add to my lineup this game.

Seattle Seahawks Analysis

The big news for this game is Drew Lock testing positive for Covid. With Geno Smith leading the way and the QB room with fewer players, Smith becomes my favorite play of the night. We could end up seeing Smith for an entire half of this game. The Bears’ defense allowed the sixth most touchdowns to the QB position last season, which leads to a chance for Smith to gain you an edge on this DFS slate.

With the Seahawks wanting to be cautious with aging vets such as Tyler Lockett and their superstar DK Metcalf, the role of wide receivers will be open for the rest of the crew to allocate their snap shares. Bo Melton could be the steal within this position as he created a 39-yard gain from a short pass last week. Melton also played half the snaps last week in their first preseason game. With Lockett, Metcalf, Eskridge and Swain possibly seeing little to no action, this is how you should stack the Seahawks offense.

Another way to approach facing the Bears’ defense is with running backs, as they allowed the eight most rushing yards to the position. We all know Pete Carroll loves establishing the run and will most likely continue doing that this week. However, with Ken Walker suffering from a hernia and Rashaad Penny returning from injury, the best play from this core could fall to DeeJay Dallas. Dallas has an opportunity to repeat last week where he saw ten carries, one target, and returned two kicks.

With an over/under of 39.5 points. This game could provide fantasy stars for each side of the ball. My optimal lineup to use is:

Captain: Geno Smith $11,400
Flex: Deejay Dallas $7,600
Flex: Justin Fields $7,600
Flex: Khalil Herbert $7,600
Flex: Bo Melton $7,600
Flex: Equanimeous St. Brown $7,600
