Buy

Kyle Pitts (TE – ATL)

After being drafted as high as the TE2 in fantasy football drafts, the second-year stud tight end is currently the TE35 in PPR scoring. Pitts has caught two catches in each of his first two games this year, both for just 19 yards. With seven targets in Week 1 and three in Week 2, it has been a massive disappointment considering what he did last year.

That being said, no, it’s not time to panic. Yet. Meanwhile, rookie Drake London has caught 13 of 19 targets for 160 yards and a touchdown, making him the WR14 in PPR leagues. So if you can get any sort of discount on Pitts, it’s worth trying. Don’t count on getting a fantastic deal, but it’s worth looking into, as some managers could be very concerned about the Falcons offense and Pitts.

James Cook (RB – BUF)

Next up is the rookie running back for the Bills, James Cook. After an atrocious Week 1, which included a fumble and just two yards on one carry, Cook saw some promising usage last week against the Titans. Yes, this was a blowout, and he was getting some snaps for the sake of experience, but more importantly, we saw Devin Singletary have just six carries for 19 yards.

Cook’s 11 carries were the most any Bills running back has had in the first two weeks in a single game. The biggest point here is that the Bills are clearly not committed to Singletary or Zack Moss, making this backfield wide open for the taking. The rushing usage is great to see, as Cook is a pass-catching specialist, arguably the best in this rookie class at catching passes out of the backfield. We haven’t even seen this on display yet, but it’s coming. Buy into the potential future running back on this electric Bills offense while you can.

Sell

Davante Adams (WR – LV)

Next up is the talented wide receiver now with Derek Carr and the Raiders. After seeing a whopping 17 targets in Week 1, he had just seven last week against the Cardinals. Adams now has 153 yards and two touchdowns, with 141 of those yards coming in the first week.

I’m listing Adams as a sell strictly for those who are not in a place to win now. If you’re winning now, hold on to him and ride it out. If you’re a middle-of-the-road team or in a rebuilding phase, sell high as he turns 30 in December. Personally, I sold him for Tee Higgins and a future first-round rookie pick recently. If you can do something similar, I’m all for it.

Hold

Darrell Henderson (RB – LAR)

All the hype during the pre-season was around Cam Akers for this Rams backfield. Henderson was getting overlooked and written off as someone who wasn’t even a threat to Akers. However, things changed quickly after Week 1, where we saw Henderson get the bulk of the work and Akers saw just three carries and didn’t gain a single yard. Fast forward to Week 2 against the Falcons, and we saw Akers get 15 carries.

I wouldn’t panic yet on Henderson, as he did get 10 carries this week and racked up 47 yards and a touchdown. Akers may have more upside and is younger and more talented when you watch the film. That being said, Henderson now has double-digit carries in both weeks, and there’s a very good chance we see this backfield split the work all season long. So if I have Henderson, I’m holding out to see what happens and taking the production while I can.

If you’re trying to sell him, there’s a good chance that no one is really going to pay what he’s worth. On the flip side, if you’re trying to buy him, you’re probably going to get someone who is trying to absolutely sell high and capitalize. That makes him someone who I’m holding on to for the moment. Confidently start him as an RB2 or flex option and take the production while the Rams are using him.
