Julio Jones had a serviceable Week 1 performance, catching three of five targets for 69 yards and rushing twice for 17 yards. A knee injury prevented him from playing in Tampa Bay’s matchup against New Orleans in Week 2. Jones continued dealing with the injury ahead of the Buccaneers’ Week 4 game at home against Kansas City. Will he play? And if he does, will he be limited? Here’s what we know.

Julio Jones (knee) to be a game-time decision in Week 4
Todd Bowles said Julio Jones was limited in practice on Friday and will be a game-time decision in Week 4 against the Chiefs.
Fantasy Impact
Jones was limited on practice all week, so it would seem like he has a chance to return this week. The Bucs play Sunday night though, so it is tough to risk starting him for fantasy managers. His return would greatly benefit Tom Brady. Chris Godwin (hamstring) is also considered a game-time decision.
What the Experts are Saying
HC Todd Bowles has said that he expects Jones (knee) to return this week after missing the last two games, so I’m tentatively projecting him to play while continuing to track his progress in practice. In Week 1, Jones had a nice 3-69-0 receiving on five targets (as well as 2-17-0 rushing), and since his age-31 season (2020) Jones has averaged 10.5 yards per target. Yes, Jones is fragile – but when he’s on the field he still bangs. Even so, he could be on a snap count if he plays, so he’s a risky deep WR5 flyer for his first game back.
