Dynasty Fantasy Football Stash Candidates (Week 11)

Dynasty Fantasy Football Stash Candidates (Week 11)

It’s that time again! What players should you be targeting to stash on your bench this week? As with every one of these columns, timing is everything. If you can be ahead of the crowd on someone, then you’re likely to profit from it. Sometimes even being a week or two late can still give you plenty of room to add value by adding some players.

With that in mind, let’s look at some players I’m targeting in stash trades this week.

Baker Mayfield (QB – CAR)

OK, hear me out on this one. Baker Mayfield isn’t dead, at least not yet. He will likely start for the Panthers in Week 11 and potentially later due to injuries. That said, most dynasty managers are just done with him at this point. In Superflex leagues, he was likely a high first-round pick when he was drafted, but that ship has long sailed.

You can probably get him for a third or fourth-round rookie pick in the right circumstance. I’m not adding him in 1QB right now, but keep him on your radar. These next few weeks could be an audition for another team if it goes well enough. You might as well try to have him on your bench as a flier in case he ends up starting somewhere next year.

Trestan Ebner (RB – CHI)

Trestan Ebner is a tricky one. Due to Khalil Herbert’s injury, Ebner will get some carries in the coming weeks. This will no doubt inflate his dynasty value. If you can add him for cheap enough, like off of waivers, do that immediately. If you can’t, put him on your list to target in a couple of weeks. Once Herbert is back, the Ebner manager might be willing to send him away for next to nothing.

But don’t forget, the Bears are likely moving on from David Montgomery this offseason, and Ebner could be in line for RB2 duties behind Herbert as he moves into that full-time role. Don’t let his spot start value cloud the full picture. Maybe you can catch the current Ebner manager sleeping or send a strong offer before he even gets the bump. Ebner is definitely someone I’m stashing where possible.

Zack Moss (RB – IND)

Everyone knows his name, but very few think of him in a positive light any longer. Zack Moss’ time with the Bills was rocky, and it was more down than up. When he got traded to the Colts, I saw that as a fresh start and a chance for him to come back to relevance. So far, though, that hasn’t been the case. In Week 10, Moss saw one carry for 4 yards. Clearly, he’s still adjusting.

I’m fine holding Moss on my bench until we see what his future looks like. New teammate Jonathan Taylor hasn’t been at the pinnacle of health this year. If he gets hurt and Deon Jackson isn’t ready to step up this time, perhaps Moss gets into the Colts’ starting lineup. If that happens, his value will increase, so add him now to gain the value on your team instead of your opponent’s.

Laviska Shenault (WR – JAX)

Believe it or not, there are a few Laviska Shenault truthers still out there. Anyone on the fence is likely back on board after his rushing touchdown in Week 10. His 14.9 PPR points were a sight for sore eyes, but what are the odds that anyone started him? Exactly, they’re low. He’s just too boom or bust to trust in lineups right now. But he’s perfect for bench fodder. There’s a non-zero chance that Shenault actually ends up as a fantasy-relevant starter after this year. Granted, that chance is low, but it’s there. And I want in on the ground floor.

While that time has passed, I’m fine buying on floor two or three too. I might try sending an offer to the current Shenault manager that feels like I’m buying high, but in reality, I’m buying low. Think of someone like Darius Slayton or Van Jefferson, who could have more temporary allure than long-term production value. I’d be glad to have Shenault over them just to see where this train goes.

Robbie Anderson (WR – ARI)

Robbie Anderson is a tough one. I was all over him when he got traded to the Cardinals, but he has yet to really do anything in his time there. I still think the production is coming, especially if the team moves on from head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Not saying that Kingsbury is the reason Anderson isn’t performing, just that a new coach can sometimes use his chess pieces differently than the old one did.

The Cardinals aren’t doing great right now, so there should be some changes in their future, and maybe Anderson will luck out as a result. He might be on waivers in shallower leagues and is someone I’d rather roster than those bottom-tier RBs right now. If you’re out this year, think of him as a long-term asset you can try to flip whenever he does break out. Let’s just hope that’s sooner rather than later.

Jake Ferguson (TE – DAL)

The Cowboys rookie went off in Week 6 but has been very quiet otherwise. His 14 PPR points that week account for almost 50% of his total fantasy points on the year (27.8). He scored a touchdown in Week 8, but otherwise, he’s been silent. Jake Ferguson didn’t play in Week 9 and was held to no touches in Week 10, so whoever rosters him might just be done with him.

If they’re contending, I’d be fine offering a win-now piece in exchange for the rookie tight end. Rookies take a while to adjust, and tight ends take even longer. So I’m looking to add him to every roster if the price is right. Dalton Schultz is taking the majority of snaps. Yet, as we’ve already seen, if Schultz misses time, Ferguson might get another chance to shine. You might as well snag him before that happens again.
