Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Advice: Pickups to Avoid (Week 13)
It’s always a bad idea to chase last week’s fantasy points. That’s what you’d be doing by going after Mac Jones. The second-year QB threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings on Thanksgiving night, but it was the first time in eight starts that Jones has thrown multiple TD passes and the second time he’s thrown for more than 252 yards. He has an unplayable matchup this week vs. the Bills. While Jones’ matchups against the Cardinals in Weeks 15 and 16 are appealing, the Patriots have been a run-heavy team this season, and the odds of Jones throwing for nearly 400 yards again are remote.
Olamide Zaccheaus had a season-high five catches for 91 yards against Washington in Week 12. But if Marcus Mariota can’t make a grade-A prospect like Drake London fantasy-viable, there’s no way he’s going to make Zaccheaus a startable fantasy asset.
