Weekend Waiver Wire Stashes: Week 11 (2022 Fantasy Football)

Weekend Waiver Wire Stashes: Week 11 (2022 Fantasy Football)

It can be helpful to look beyond just Week 11 to get a leg up on your league mates and not have to break the FAAB bank to get them. So here are some options for this weekend.

Quarterbacks

Deshaun Watson (QB – CLE) – 46% Rostered

Watson is eligible to return to the team in Week 13 against his former team, the Texans. However, you’ll likely want to see how rusty Watson looks before plugging him in as a starter, in which case you might not be able to start him till Week 14 on the road against the Bengals before facing the surging Ravens at home. I’m skeptical of how good for fantasy football Watson can be coming off almost two years without a game, but he might be worth stashing just so your opponents don’t have him and giving you added depth for the playoffs.

Marcus Mariota (QB – ATL) – 40% Rostered

Through 10 weeks, Marcus Mariota is the QB12 and has had three 20+ point games in his last five games. The passing offense in Atlanta might not be a desirable one. Still, Mariota averages 6.3 rush attempts per game and, since week 5, has had an average of 42.0 rushing yards per game, which ranks fifth-highest amongst quarterbacks. Mariota has upcoming games against the Bears, Commanders and Steelers, who have all given up big fantasy days to opposing quarterbacks.

Matt Ryan (QB – IND) – 15% Rostered

With the Sam Ehlinger experiment drawn to a close, Matt Ryan is back as the starter in Indianapolis, and in Week 10, he had his second-best fantasy performance of the season. Interim head coach Jeff Saturday is a former offensive lineman himself, and it looked like he’d had an immediate effect on a unit that has played very poorly this season. If that line can keep Matt Ryan upright a little bit more, he’ll still have fantasy-relevant days this season.

Wide Receivers

Michael Gallup (WR – DAL) – 44% Rostered

Since returning from injury in Week 4, Michael Gallup hasn’t looked incredible, but the Cowboys’ passing attack looks to be hitting its stride after a broken start to the year, and Gallup has had 13 targets in his last two games. The Cowboys face the Vikings in Week 11 before a home game against the Giants on Thanksgiving, neither of those matchups are worrying for the Cowboys’ passing attack, and in Week 15 during the fantasy playoffs, Gallup will matchup with the Jaguars and then the Titans in Week 17, who have consistently let teams complete deep passes.

Donovan Peoples-Jones (WR – CLE) – 42% Rostered

Since Week 4, Peoples-Jones has averaged 74.3 receiving yards per game, which ranks 14th highest amongst wide receivers. While teammate Amari Cooper struggles with home and road splits, Peoples-Jones has consistently been putting up steady numbers, despite not scoring any touchdowns. As the injuries pile up and with a quarterback upgrade coming, Peoples-Jones should be rostered everywhere.

Parris Campbell (WR – IND) – 36% Rostered
The Colts reinstalling Matt Ryan at quarterback spelled good news for Parris Campbell, who saw his target average drop from 5.9 in games with Ryan to 3.5 in games with Sam Ehlinger. Across Campbell’s last three games with Ryan, he has averaged 20.8 PPR points and has finished as the WR9, WR5, and WR11, scoring touchdowns in all of those games. Campbell will have a tough matchup against the Eagles this weekend but should be rostered in all formats regardless.

Elijah Moore (WR – NYJ) – 26% Rostered

Head coach, Robert Saleh, talked during the Jets’ bye week about how the plan moving forward is for Elijah Moore to play from the slot more often, which should open up a higher volume of targets, along with them being typically easier catches than targets on the boundary. Admittedly Moore has just one catch in his last four games, but if he’s moved to the slot, those fortunes might change. Moore had the highest grade of the 2021 receiver class when playing in the slot, and it’s been a little surprising the Jets haven’t used him there more often. When Moore played from the slot in 2021, he had a 37% target share and was a monster for PPR formats.

Running Backs

Tyler Allgeier (RB – ATL) – 52% Rostered

The Falcons’ offense is running solely through the running game whenever possible, and while Cordarrelle Patterson is going to be heavily involved, it seems to be firmly Allgeier behind him. Over the last four games, Allgeier has had four double-digit PPR games, and if anything happens to Patterson, who is 31 years old, then Allgeier would regain a big role for the rest of the season.

Eno Benjamin (RB – HOU) – 29% Rostered

The Cardinals released Benjamin after James Conner returned to full health, and Benjamin was, in turn, claimed by the Texans through waivers. In recent weeks the Texans have reduced Rex Burkhead‘s playing time and increased how much Dameon Pierce was being used in the passing game, but now they have Benjamin, it’s possible he becomes the pass-catching back in an offense that frequently finds itself trailing games.

Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT) – 27% Rostered

Najee Harris had one of his best games this season in Week 10 but still failed to be involved in the passing game or catch a touchdown. For most of the season, Jaylen Warren has looked more efficient and explosive than Harris. As a result, the Steelers have felt comfortable using Warren in both the run and passing game, with Warren catching 86% of his targets. If the Steelers decide to shut Harris down in this lost season for any reason, Warren would have a three-down workload the rest of the way.

Tight Ends

Foster Moreau (TE – LV) – 38% Rostered

With Darren Waller struggling through injuries, Foster Moreau has become the go-to tight end for the Raiders and has seen 23 targets in his last four games. Moreau struggles to turn catches into big yardage returns, but in PPR formats, he’s a steady set of hands and often, at tight end, all we need is a touchdown until Waller returns. Moreau will remain streamable.

Juwan Johnson (TE – NO) – 29% Rostered

It’s clear that Juwan Johnson is the TE1 in New Orleans, regardless of what Taysom Hill‘s designation is or even with Adam Trautman returning. Johnson has had four double-digit performances in his last five games and continues to be involved week to week. The Saints play the Rams this weekend, who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends over the last three weeks, and then they play the Bucs, who have allowed the 13th-most points to opposing tight ends this season.

Isaiah Likely (TE – BAL) – 26% Rostered

Mark Andrews doesn’t seem to be fully recovered from the nagging shoulder injury that has kept him out of the last two games, and if he can’t play this weekend, Isaiah Likely will be the clear pass-catching TE for the Ravens again. As Likely continues to get more comfortable in this offense, he’ll no doubt see his snaps increase, and after having back-to-back games with a touchdown, there is no reason for the Ravens to want to reduce his playing time.

Defense

Minnesota Vikings – 32% Rostered

The Vikings have a tough matchup against the Cowboys this week but then face a Patriots side that has been prone to issues this year in Week 12. Over their last four games, the Vikings have scored at least nine fantasy points and averaged 12.75 points.

Chicago Bears – 6% Rostered

The Bears’ defense isn’t particularly good, but they face the Falcons this weekend before the Jets in Week 12, along with a Week 17 matchup with the Lions. These are all matchups where they could put up points.
