Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Kenneth Walker III dealing with a strain in his foot
Pete Carroll said Kenneth Walker III has a strain in his foot, not an ankle sprain.
Fantasy Impact
Carroll called it “unusual” and he’s never heard of something like this before. He said it’s an inflammation issue. The next step is trying to manage it this week in practice and he can possibly play next week. Walker’s status at practice this week will have to be monitored.
Lamar Jackson (knee) ‘unlikely’ to suit up against Pittsburgh
Ravens’ HC John Harbaugh relayed that QB Lamar Jackson is “week-to-week” with the knee injury he sustained against Denver, and that he is unlikely to play against Pittsburgh in Week 14.
Fantasy Impact
Harbaugh did mention that Jackson has not yet been ruled out completely, though all indications point that way. Fantasy managers need to be prepared to be without Jackson in Week 14, an unfortunately timed occurrence with the playoffs right around the corner. Tyler Huntley should be slated to start against the Steelers in Week 14, and he could fall in line as a QB2 due to his rushing upside on the Baltimore offense.
Joe Mixon (concussion) has chance to return against Browns
Bengals’ HC Zac Taylor noted that Joe Mixon should have a chance to get clear from the concussion protocols early in the week leading up to Sunday’s matchup with the Browns.
Fantasy Impact
Mixon should be in line to return to the starting lineup this week barring any unforeseen setbacks. RB Samaje Perine has filled in over the past two weeks but will return to a backup role once Mixon is officially cleared. Mixon’s practice status will be worth monitoring leading up to the Week 14 tilt. If active, he will slot back in as a borderline RB1 against the exploitable Cleveland run defense.
Courtland Sutton (hamstring) considered day to day
Courtland Sutton is considered day to day according to coach Nathaniel Hackett.
Fantasy Impact
Sutton left Sunday’s game early with a hamstring injury. He had been productive in each of his previous three games, but his status at practice throughout the week will be one to monitor. Greg Dulcich and Jerry Jeudy would see a boost in opportunity if Sutton was to miss next week’s game against the Chiefs.
