Derek Carr put on trade market by Raiders
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Las Vegas Raiders have officially started exploring the trade market for QB Derek Carr with a financial incentive to do so before Feb. 15.
Fantasy Impact
Carr has officially begun being shopped around by Las Vegas after a season that ended in a top-10 pick for the Raiders. Carr did not finish the season with Las Vegas, being benched for QB Jarrett Stidham. Carr’s contract becomes guaranteed on Feb. 15, making a trade likely to come soon. If a partner is not found, Carr will likely be cut. Carr has already posted a goodbye message on social media as well.

Fantasy Impact
McVay, who had mulled retirement, has decided he will stay with the team for 2023. The Rams will undergo staffing changes as assistants have left for new roles, but McVay will stay through the process. McVay is under contract for multiple years with the Rams and is just 36 years old.

Aaron Jones likely returning in 2023, could restructure contract
Aaron Jones is expected to return in 2023, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst. However, the team could work to restructure Jones’ contract, much like they have done with other core players.
Fantasy Impact
Restructuring Jones’ contract would allow the Packers to reduce his cap hit for 2023 and beyond. The veteran back remained dominant this past season, totaling 1,121 rushing yards, 395 receiving yards, and seven total touchdowns. Despite his solid stats, Jones lost opportunities to young teammate AJ Dillon, especially toward the end of the season. Dillon found the end zone seven times and also saw increased usage around the goal line. This unique backfield dynamic could put a cap on Jones’ and Dillon’s fantasy upside in 2023.
