The UFC resumes operations this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with UFC 285, following a rough run of UFC Fight Night events to end February. The best plans can occasionally go awry, but it appears that Jon Jones’ long-awaited transition to heavyweight has finally happened and should be a great one. Although Ciryl Gane wasn’t everyone’s first choice for the former pound-for-pound champion’s first heavyweight opponent, this main event is still an intriguing contest.

This one is on the early prelims and one of the first fights of the night, featuring two strawweight fighters on opposite ends of their UFC careers. Both with significant strikes landed per minute clips of less than three, each of these fighters relies mostly on their ground game, and the fight metrics prove that.

For the favorite Penne, a takedown average of 3.95 per 15 minutes in the octagon will likely once again paint the picture for this fight. I expect her to take this one to the ground early and often, mostly avoiding striking exchanges.
