3 Dynasty Rookie Draft Value Picks (2025 Fantasy Football)

Hitting on your rookie draft selections is the easiest way to escape dynasty purgatory. Unfortunately, this can also be one of the most challenging parts of our job. A coin flip between two similarly graded prospects can be the difference between winning and losing your favorite fantasy league. Fortunately, the team at FantasyPros is here to help. Here are three dynasy rookie draft value picks based on FantasyPros’ 2025 dynasty rookie fantasy football rankings.

Dynasty Rookie Draft Value Picks

RJ Harvey (RB – DEN)

Groupthink projected that the Denver Broncos would draft North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Instead, they drafted their Javonte Williams replacement late on Day Two, using the 60th overall selection on running back RJ Harvey.

The former UCF standout is older (24 years old) than we would prefer, but he has the potential to step in and contribute immediately. FantasyPros’ dynast rookie expert consensus rankings (ECR) have Harvey ranked as the No. 11 overall player in 1-QB PPR leagues, but I would not hesitate to draft him in the 7-10 range if needing immediate running back help.

Harvey is a compact (5-foot-8, 205 pounds) inside runner with quick feet to make defenders miss in the box. He shows patience behind his offensive line and isn’t afraid to lower his pads to finish runs with power. He should immediately compete with running backs Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime for No. 1 RB duties in Denver’s backfield.

Jayden Higgins (WR – HOU)

The Jayden Higgins disrespect is difficult to understand. Along with possessing ideal size (6-foot-4) and speed (4.47 40-yard-dash) to make an immediate impact in the NFL, Higgins will also be attached to 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud for the foreseeable future.

The Texans invested the No. 34 overall selection on the former Iowa State wide receiver, but dynasty managers are treating him like an afterthought. He is currently ranked as the No. 16 overall player (WR7), but I would rank him above Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward and Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre Harris, at a minimum.

While Higgins’ upside may be capped playing second-fiddle to Nico Collins, there are more than enough targets to go around in Houston. Tank Dell, a third-round selection in 2023, is expected to miss the entire 2025 season due to a dislocated knee, multiple torn ligaments and meniscus damage sustained in Week 16 of the 2024 season. His career may now be in serious jeopardy.

Higgins will be allowed to step in and contribute immediately as Houston’s No. 2 WR opposite Collins, but he will be competing with veteran Christian Kirk and fellow Iowa State rookie Jaylin Noel for targets. That could lead to some inconsistent fantasy outings, but Higgins has the talent and opportunity to trail only Collins in wide receiver opportunities.

Kyle Williams (WR – NE)

The New England Patriots signed four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason, but they needed at least one more offensive weapon for quarterback Drake Maye. After addressing left tackle and running back with their first two picks, the Patriots selected former Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams in the third round (69th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Williams was a late-career breakout who didn’t surpass 1,000 receiving yards until his fifth year in college. While some in the analytics community might see this as a potential red flag, I prefer to evaluate prospects based on their circumstances.

Williams is somewhat undersized (5-foot-10, 190 pounds) and has inconsistent hands, but he’s a home run threat with playmaking ability in the open field. With an opportunity to earn immediate playing time, Williams is currently undervalued as the No. 20 overall player (WR9) in dynasty rookie rankings.
