Welcome to our weekly fantasy baseball risers and fallers column. In this article, I’ll identify three risers and three fallers based on what transpired over the previous week.
Given that we’re near the end of the season, there are more options to choose from. We know how managers are deploying their players, with some surprisingly receiving less playing time than initially expected. We also have a few young hitters who are making their presence felt immediately.
Without further ado, let’s find out who this week’s biggest risers and fallers are.

Fantasy Baseball Risers & Fallers
Fantasy Baseball Risers
Alex Bregman (3B – CHC)
Alex Bregman is currently slashing .262/.347/.446 with 24 home runs in 636 plate appearances. He’s been a phenomenal pickup for the Cubs.
In the last seven days, Bregman has an incredible 306 wRC+ with five home runs in 32 plate appearances. Enjoy the ride for the rest of the year.
Rafael Devers (1B – SFG)
Rafael Devers was a hitter everyone seemed to be avoiding, but he’s exceeded expectations, slashing .256/.338/.508 with 33 home runs in 607 plate appearances.
In the last seven days, he has a 306 wRC+ with four home runs. The lesson here is that we should always trust a player’s track record.
Carter Jensen (C – KCR)
Carter Jensen is having a terrific rookie season, slashing .231/.316/.443 with 22 home runs in 529 plate appearances.
Jensen is getting better as the season goes along, putting up a 276 wRC+ with three homers in 27 plate appearances across his last four games. He’s shaping up as an intriguing target for next season.
Fantasy Baseball Fallers
Corbin Carroll (OF – ARI)
Corbin Carroll is currently slashing .239/.335/.466 with 19 homers and 21 steals in 597 plate appearances.
It’s been a disappointing year for Carroll, especially of late. In the last seven days, he has a .043/.120/.043 with zero homers. We’ll probably get a nice discount on him next draft season.
Munetaka Murakami (1B, 3B, CWS)
Munetaka Murakami has had a rock-solid first season, slashing .211/.351/.476 with 29 home runs in 464 plate appearances.
However, he’s been as ice-cold as it gets. In the last seven days, he has a triple slash line of .042/.233/.042 with zero homers. That mid-season injury ruined his overall numbers.
Daulton Varsho (OF – HOU)
Daulton Varsho has been a disappointment for the Astros. In the last seven days, he’s batting .095 with zero homers. It’s looking like a lost season for Varsho, so you might as well drop him.
