Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash: Week 23

Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash: Week 23

The prospect promotions continued this past week, as Walker Jenkins and Ethan Salas both received the call to the Majors. Their arrivals remove two of the most exciting names from our stash list, but several prospects could still make an impact during the final weeks of the fantasy baseball season.

Charlie Condon is also coming off the list. The Rockies reportedly are not planning to promote him this month, so there is little reason to keep holding him in redraft leagues. However, Condon remains a strong name to consider in dynasty and keeper formats.

Most fantasy leagues have already started their playoffs or are less than a week away. Therefore, we have reached the point where roster spots are extremely valuable. There is not much time left to wait on a prospect who may never receive the call. Still, the right promotion could provide the difference between advancing and watching the rest of the postseason from home.

Fantasy Baseball In-Season Waiver Wire & Trade Advice

September is here and with it, MLB rosters expand from 26 to 28 players. That does not guarantee a wave of top prospect promotions, but it should create opportunities for several players who are already knocking on the door.

Playing time, 40-man roster spots and minor-league playoff races will all factor into these decisions. Here are some prospects to consider for the next month and the 2027 season.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash

Michael Arroyo (2B/OF – SEA) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 45

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: September/2027 debut

Michael Arroyo put together another productive week, going 6-for-24 with two doubles, one triple, and one home run. Perhaps even more encouragingly, he struck out only four times during that span.

The Mariners promoted Lazaro Montes earlier this week, which could make another prospect promotion appear less likely. However, Montes is a left-handed hitter, while Arroyo bats from the right side. Seattle could still use Arroyo’s bat and versatility during the stretch run, especially if the team wants another option against left-handed pitching.

Arroyo is probably best suited for deep leagues, since I would be worried about consistent playing time at this point in the season.

Ty Johnson (SP/RP – TB) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: September/2027 debut

Ty Johnson continues to dominate in short appearances. Across his last five outings, he has thrown 6.1 innings while allowing only one hit, one walk, and no earned runs. He has also recorded 10 strikeouts during that stretch.

If Johnson receives the call, he would likely be used out of the bullpen. Although that limits his overall fantasy ceiling, he could still provide helpful counting statistics. His strikeout ability could make him valuable in leagues that count strikeouts, K/9, holds, or saves plus holds.

Managers in deeper leagues should keep him on their watch lists, particularly if their league rewards middle relievers.

Seaver King (SS – WAS) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 71

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: September/2027 Debut

Seaver King picked a bad time to slow down. After looking like a likely September promotion candidate, King went just 4-for-26 over the past week. He hit one home run but did not record another extra base hit. He also walked seven times while striking out nine times.

Despite the lower batting average, King has reached base safely in eight of his last 10 games. That is important because it shows he is still finding ways to contribute even while the hits are not falling. The seven walks are especially encouraging and help offset some of the concern surrounding the nine strikeouts.

He remains a worthwhile dynasty option, while redraft managers should consider him a watch list candidate unless stronger promotion rumors emerge.

Jonah Tong (SP/RP – NYM) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: September

Jonah Tong has made a strong case for another Major League opportunity. Across his last two Triple-A starts, he has pitched 12.2 innings while allowing four hits and four walks with 11 strikeouts. The strikeout total may not jump off the page compared with some of his more dominant performances, but his ability to limit hits remains impressive.

The Mets could use Tong in the rotation or out of the bullpen during the final weeks of the season. That flexibility gives him more potential paths back to the Majors. One more strong Triple-A start may be enough to convince the organization to give him another opportunity. Tong could use a late-season promotion to make his case for a spot in the Mets’ 2027 rotation.

Bo Davidson (OF – SF) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: September/2027 Debut

Bo Davidson went 5-for-24 over the past week with one home run, one double, and one walk. He also struck out six times, which is somewhat surprising for a hitter who has generally shown a solid approach at the plate.

One difficult week should not erase what Davidson has accomplished this season. Davidson’s redraft appeal depends almost entirely on whether the Giants decide to promote him. The clock is ticking, and there may not be enough time for him to earn a consistent role. However, if he remains in the minors for the rest of September, he could be an excellent offseason addition for dynasty managers searching for outfield help in 2027.

Franklin Arias (SS – BOS) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 3

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: September/2027 Debut

Franklin Arias continues to make a strong impression at Triple-A. Through 29 games at the level, he is hitting .297 with 33 hits, seven doubles, and four home runs.

Furthermore, he has maintained a strikeout rate below 19 percent. Arias’ ability to hit for average while keeping his strikeouts under control gives him an encouraging offensive foundation. The power is still developing, but four home runs in his first 29 Triple-A games show that he is not simply a contact only hitter.

It may take an injury for Arias to make his debut this season, but he is doing everything possible to make the Red Sox consider a promotion. He is more of a dynasty or keeper league stash right now. Still, redraft managers should monitor Boston’s roster closely because an opening could quickly change his outlook.

Additional Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Consider

Ralphy Velazquez (1B/OF – CLE) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 32

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: September/2027 Debut

Ralphy Velazquez has reached base safely in nine of his last 10 games while hitting four home runs. He has also recorded seven walks and nine strikeouts during that span. It is especially encouraging to see him drawing more walks and keeping the strikeouts under control.

I am still not convinced Cleveland will promote him this season, but the organization could use another bat. Additionally, Velazquez has been receiving time in the outfield, which gives Cleveland more ways to fit him into the lineup.

Joseph Dzierwa (SP – BAL) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 96

  • Current Level: Double-A
  • ETA: 2027

Joseph Dzierwa had a difficult outing, allowing nine hits and four earned runs across five innings in his last start. On the positive side, he did not issue a walk. However, he finished with only three strikeouts and has now recorded exactly three strikeouts in each of his last two appearances.

Dzierwa’s recent lack of strikeouts lowers his immediate fantasy appeal. He still has long term potential, but let’s see how he does over his next few starts and how that could affect his 2027 fantasy value.

Zyhir Hope (OF – DET) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 28

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: 2027 Debut

Zyhir Hope has played 21 games in the Tigers’ Double-A system since being acquired from the Dodgers. He has hit four home runs and stolen five bases during that span. Before the trade, he produced 23 home runs and 18 stolen bases in 94 games in the Dodgers’ system.

Hope is batting only .235 since joining Detroit after hitting .293 with the Dodgers. Still, the combination of power and speed remains highly appealing. He has a strong chance to enter 2027 as the best hitting prospect in the Tigers’ system. He will not help redraft managers this season, but he should be a priority name for dynasty managers looking ahead to next year.

Cam Caminiti (SP – ATL) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 41

  • Current Level: Double-A
  • ETA: 2027

Cam Caminiti delivered another impressive performance in his latest start, pitching six innings while allowing one earned run and two walks with eight strikeouts.
A Major League promotion is unlikely this late in the season, so Caminiti is strictly a dynasty target. Nevertheless, performances like this could allow him to move quickly in 2027. Managers in deeper dynasty leagues should consider adding him before his price rises even further.
