Everyone loves an Ask Me Anything (AMA), especially the fantasy football community. You can put me at the top of the list of those who love a good fantasy football AMA. Answering questions for a specific individual fantasy player is so much fun. Not only am I helping that fantasy player improve their team, but I’m also challenged to think beyond the usual box of who is higher in my fantasy football rankings or who to start this week.
FantasyPros does an excellent job with their Discord AMAs, giving members a chance to have their questions answered by professionals. Please join my Discord channel and reach out to me anytime with any fantasy football questions.

Fantasy Football Discord AMA & Mailbag
Without further ado, let’s dive into some of the questions and answers from my Week 2 Discord AMA.
Lineup Questions
Are we starting Colston Loveland this week after his zero-point performance?
Raise your hand if you scored as many fantasy points as Loveland in Week 1. Despite the Chicago Bears scoring a league-high 59 points on Sunday, the former Michigan star saw only two targets and failed to score any fantasy points. However, I chalk that up as a fluke rather than a concern. Furthermore, I would happily sell high on Dallas Goedert to acquire Loveland. He remains a plug-and-play TE1 for me.
Would you play Stefon Diggs or Carnell Tate in your flex spot this week?
I would start Diggs over Tate this week and every week until the Tennessee Titans offense shows that they can be a functional unit. Despite facing a subpar New York Jets defense in Week 1, the Titans scored 10 points and had little fantasy impact. Tate finished with a team-high six targets but only scored 7.8 PPR fantasy points. Meanwhile, Diggs had nine targets, a receiving touchdown, and 15.5 fantasy points against a far better defense.
Waiver Wire Questions
Should I drop Harold Fannin Jr. for Brenton Strange or Michael Mayer?
Absolutely not. I know the Cleveland Browns offense was horrific in Week 1, and Fannin scored only 4.1 PPR fantasy points. However, Deshaun Watson won’t be the starter for long, and when Shedeur Sanders takes over, Fannin will see more than three targets a game. Meanwhile, Mayer only has value until Brock Bowers is back, which could be this week. Strange lucked out with scoring a touchdown in Week 1 but only had three targets.
How much FAAB should I spend on Drew Lock in a superflex league?
It sounds like Sam Darnold’s injury is minor and the team isn’t planning on putting him on injured reserve at this time. Therefore, I wouldn’t get aggressive with my FAAB. Lock played well filling in for Darnold, completing 72.7% of his pass attempts for 187 yards, a touchdown, and 12.8 fantasy points. He has a solid two-game schedule coming up. Yet, I would only add the veteran off waivers if my quarterback situation was pretty rough.
Are we holding onto Romeo Doubs or dropping him?
If A.J. Brown hadn’t gotten hurt, I would be dropping Doubs this week. However, the superstar will reportedly miss 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain. Despite his struggles on Wednesday night, Doubs is the best healthy wide receiver on the New England Patriots’ roster. I am betting on the veteran to bounce back and be a solid flex option for fantasy players until Brown is back. The Patriots’ schedule is fantasy-friendly moving forward.
Would you drop Chig Okonkwo for Dalton Schultz in PPR scoring?
While Okonkwo was an appealing sleeper option earlier in the offseason, the veteran has little fantasy appeal after Week 1. He left Sunday’s matchup with a hamstring injury. More importantly, Stefon Diggs and Antonio Williams played well against the Philadelphia Eagles. Meanwhile, Schultz had eight targets in Week 1, the second-most on the team behind Nico Collins’ 10. He should be the Houston Texans’ No. 2 option in the passing game for most of the year.
In a guillotine league, how much FAAB would you spend on James Cook despite his Week 1 performance?
How I spend my FAAB in a guillotine league depends on two things – how close I came to being chopped and how desperate I am to upgrade at a certain position. Assuming you weren’t close to getting chopped and have decent running back options, I would spend about 20-25% of my budget on Cook. His Week 1 performance doesn’t worry me. The Buffalo Bills needed a superhero performance from Josh Allen to win. That won’t be the case every week.

Trade Questions
Which players are you trying to buy low on after Week 1?
My top buy-low targets are Omarion Hampton, Drake London, and Colston Loveland. The Los Angeles Chargers offense will be better after barely playing in the preseason. I trust Mike McDaniel to make Hampton a superstar. London will be fine once Michael Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa is back under center. Despite the Chicago Bears scoring 59 points in Week 1, Ben Johnson won’t let his best weapon in the passing game continue to see two targets a game.
Which players are you trying to sell high on after Week 1?
I would love to get Chuba Hubbard, Christian Watson, Jalen Coker, and Dallas Goedert off my roster. None of these guys would I panic-sell to get off my roster before Week 2 starts. Yet, I would love to flip Hubbard for Jadarian Price, Watson for DeVonta Smith, Coker for Chris Godwin, and Goedert for Colston Loveland or Tucker Kraft. However, with any trade, make sure you let everyone in the league know your players are available; don’t just take the first offer.
Dynasty Questions
Should I trade away DeVonta Smith and Rhamondre Stevenson for Javonte Williams in a half-point PPR scoring league?
There is no way I’m giving up Smith and Stevenson for Williams. I wouldn’t trade Smith straight up for Williams, even in half-point PPR scoring. The former Alabama star is the Philadelphia Eagles’ No. 1 wide receiver. While he had a poor Week 1 performance, it is short-sighted to trade him and Stevenson for a 26-year-old running back with a significant injury history. If you are determined to get Williams on your roster, try offering Stevenson and a bench wide receiver.
