Monday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (9/14)
Reid Detmers has been unconscious on the hill lately. According to FanGraphs, Detmers has dominated the opposition to the tune of the following numbers in his previous five starts spanning 33 innings:
- 2 wins
- 5 quality starts
- 0.55 ERA
- 2.01 xERA
- 2.67 xFIP
- 2.65 SIERA
- 0.76 WHIP
- 1.7% walk rate
- 29.7% strikeout rate
- 12.6% SwStr%
- 30.8% CSW%
- 104 stuff+
- 115 location+
- 116 pitching+
Detmers has a mixed matchup and OK betting info tonight. The Mariners are 25th in wRC+ (88) with a 24.1% strikeout rate versus lefties but tied for 11th in wRC+ (99) with a 22.3% strikeout rate on the road in 2026.
Seattle is also fourth in wRC+ (113) with a 24.2% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days and tied for fourth in wRC+ (124) with a 22.7% strikeout rate in the last 14 days. The Angels are slight underdogs (EVEN), and the game’s total is eight runs. Still, Detmers is the top pitcher on the slate.
Kade Anderson will oppose Reid Detmers, and the Mariners are -120 favorites.
The young lefty has a fantastic matchup. The Angels are tied for 16th in wRC+ (94) with a 24.8% strikeout rate versus lefties and 30th in wRC+ (79) with a 25.6% strikeout rate at home this year. They are also 28th in wRC+ (81) with a 25.7% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days and tied for 22nd in wRC+ (92) with a 27.1% strikeout rate in the last 14 days.
Anderson hasn’t dominated right out of the gate, but he’s coming off the best turn in his fourth start in the Majors, holding the Rangers to one run on a solo homer, six hits, one walk and five strikeouts in six innings.
Anderson also destroyed minor-league hitters, spinning a 1.06 ERA, 2.62 xFIP, 0.64 WHIP, 3.9% walk rate, 40.5% strikeout rate and 18.5% SwStr% in 18 Double-A starts this season. Anderson is a compelling selection on DraftKings, and he has a viable case for usage in cash games and GPPs on FanDuel, too.
Will Warren has been sharp, albeit fortunate, lately. In his last five appearances (four starts), totaling 24.1 innings, he’s logged the following numbers:
- 2 wins
- 2 quality starts
- 2.22 ERA
- 3.99 xERA
- 3.79 xFIP
- 3.81 SIERA
- 1.15 WHIP
- 8% walk rate
- 24% strikeout rate
- 9.6% SwStr%
- 27.7% CSW%
- 100 stuff+
- 110 location+
- 112 pitching+
Unfortunately for Warren, he has a challenging matchup. The Twins are sixth in wRC+ (108) with a 20.4% strikeout rate versus righties and ninth in wRC+ (107) with a 19.7% strikeout rate at home this season.
Minnesota is also tied for 14th in wRC+ (102) with a 19.1% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days and 13th in wRC+ (106) with a 20% strikeout rate. Nonetheless, the Yankees are -135 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
The Rockies are in their hitting paradise against a pitcher who has been a dumpster fire since the Padres acquired him.
In seven starts for the Friars, Casey Mize has a 6.34 ERA, 4.50 xERA, 5.45 xFIP, 5.18 SIERA and 1.41 WHIP. Coors Field isn’t a get-right venue. Therefore, the Rockies are an exciting stacking option.
Reynaldo Lopez has made 12 starts and 13 relief appearances this season. In his 12 starts, he has a 4.47 ERA, 4.99 xERA, 4.35 xFIP, 4.33 SIERA and 1.42 WHIP.
The 32-year-old righty has allowed a .305 wOBA to 143 right-handed batters and a .348 wOBA to 186 left-handed batters this season as well. The Cubs can tee off tonight.

Core Studs
- Pete Crow-Armstrong didn’t reach base and struck out in four plate appearances on Sunday, but that’s about his only blemish lately. In 118 plate appearances from August 16th through September 12th, Crow-Armstrong ripped 14 round-trippers with 25 runs, 25 RBI, six stolen bases, a .364 on-base percentage (OBP), .442 ISO, .449 wOBA, .436 expected wOBA (xwOBA) and 189 wRC+.
- Mickey Moniak has belted 29 bombs with a .339 OBP, .336 ISO, .408 wOBA and 138 wRC+ in 392 plate appearances at home against righties since last season.
- Nothing in Adael Amador‘s Triple-A profile this year or last was impressive. However, in 53 plate appearances in the Majors this season, he’s mashed four taters with 13 runs, 12 RBI, a .404 OBP, .326 ISO, .444 wOBA and 171 wRC+.
Value Plays/Punts
- Kyle Karros is having a breakout season, hitting 11 homers with 59 runs, 45 RBI, five stolen bases, a .352 OBP, .162 ISO, .340 wOBA, .337 xwOBA and 102 wRC+ in 432 plate appearances.
- Michael Conforto walked once in three plate appearances yesterday. In 62 plate appearances from August 15th through September 12th, Conforto popped five homers, seven runs, 14 RBI, a .387 OBP, .333 ISO, .421 wOBA, .378 xwOBA and 170 wRC+.
- Sean Murphy is an attractive punt-priced catcher on DraftKings. He’s hit 12 homers with a .300 OBP, .239 ISO, .313 wOBA and 100 wRC+ in 210 plate appearances against southpaws since 2024.
