Tuesday’s Top MLB DFS Picks & Player Props
Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (9/8)
The Cubs lit up Jacob Misiorowski for five runs on five hits (one homer) and four walks in four innings in his last start. Hopefully, that will lop a few percentage points off his roster rate, enhancing his GPP appeal. Still, no one is entirely sleeping on MLB’s best pitcher in 2026.
Misiorowski has been a world-beater at home. According to FanGraphs, in 14 home starts spanning 83.1 innings this season, Misiorowski has a 1.62 ERA, 1.83 xFIP, 0.76 WHIP, 5.4% walk rate and 41.7% strikeout rate.
The Cubs are a brutal matchup, but the Brewers are -215 favorites, and the game’s total is 7.5 runs. In addition, Misiorowski allowed only one run on five hits, five walks and 16 strikeouts in 12 innings in his two previous starts against Chicago this season.
I prefer Cam Schlittler over Jacob Misiorowski in cash games, as I expect him to be slightly more popular in a much better matchup. The Rockies are 22nd in wRC+ (97) with a 21.8% strikeout rate versus righties and tied for 18th in wRC+ (96) with a 23.6% strikeout rate on the road this season.
Colorado is also 25th in wRC+ (89) with a 22.7% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days and 16th in wRC+ (100) with a 23.4% strikeout rate in the last 14 days. The Yankees are -311 favorites, and the game’s total is eight runs.
Of course, Schlittler is also appealing because of his excellent numbers this season, especially lately. In his previous five starts spanning 32 innings, Schlittler has recorded the following numbers:
- 2 wins
- 3 quality starts
- 1.13 ERA
- 2.86 xERA
- 2.77 xFIP
- 3.10 SIERA
- 0.88 WHIP
- 9% walk rate
- 32% strikeout rate
- 14.7% SwStr%
- 31.2% CSW%
- 115 stuff+
- 96 location+
- 112 pitching+
Schlittler should have a high floor and a massive ceiling today. Interestingly, the two forthcoming stacks open up the possibility of using Schlittler and Misiorowski together on DraftKings.
Sean Burke has made 24 starts and four bulk reliever appearances in a breakout season, and he snapped a recent funk with 5.2 innings of scoreless ball against the Astros in Houston on September 1st. Burke has amassed the following stats in his 24 starts across 129.2 innings:
- 6 wins
- 10 quality starts
- 3.47 ERA
- 3.75 xERA
- 3.98 xFIP
- 3.83 SIERA
- 1.20 WHIP
- 8.8% walk rate
- 26% strikeout rate
- 10.5% SwStr%
- 27.8% CSW%
- 99 stuff+
- 100 location+
- 99 pitching+
Burke’s matchup is mixed. On the negative side for him, the Pirates are seventh in wRC+ (106) with a 23.6% strikeout rate versus righties this season.
On the positive side for Burke, the Buccos are 24th in wRC+ (91) with a 26.9% strikeout rate on the road, 27th in wRC+ (82) with a 25.5% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days and 25th in wRC+ (81) with a 25% strikeout rate in the last 14 days. The White Sox are -145 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
Freddy Peralta has pitched pitifully this season, and he’s vomited on his cleats on the road. In 13 road tilts spanning 68.1 innings this year, Peralta is responsible for a 6.19 ERA, 4.45 xFIP and 1.45 WHIP.
Moreover, he’s allowed a .368 wOBA to 300 batters faced on the road this season. The Braves can bounce back from getting shut out by Jesus Luzardo yesterday and light up Peralta tonight.
Bubba Chandler is having an uninspiring sophomore season, and he’s been slightly worse on the road than at home. In 15 road starts, totaling 77 innings, Chandler has a 4.32 ERA, 5.08 xFIP and 1.34 WHIP.
Chicago’s left-handed batters and switch-hitters, of which there are seven in the projected lineup, are the most appealing stacking options. Chandler has yielded a .333 wOBA to 325 left-handed batters, getting torched for a .361 wOBA against 184 lefties on the road.

Core Studs
- Ronald Acuna Jr. only worked a walk in four plate appearances yesterday, but he’s otherwise filled the box score lately. In his previous 87 plate appearances, Acuna hit four home runs with 10 runs, 15 RBI, five stolen bases, a .356 on-base percentage (OBP), .203 ISO, .372 wOBA, .332 expected wOBA (xwOBA) and 136 wRC+.
- Drake Baldwin has launched 22 long balls with 75 runs, 69 RBI, three stolen bases, a .353 OBP, .172 ISO, .351 wOBA and 122 wRC+ in 536 plate appearances this season.
- In 599 career plate appearances against righties since reaching the Majors last season, Colson Montgomery has ripped 38 round-trippers with a .291 OBP, .252 ISO, .322 wOBA and 106 wRC+.
Value Plays/Punts
- Tristan Peters has thrived this year, hitting 12 homers with 58 runs, 53 RBI, eight stolen bases, a .348 OBP, .190 ISO, .358 wOBA, .321 xwOBA and 131 wRC+ in 435 plate appearances.
- Andrew Vaughn has drilled 10 dingers with a .378 OBP, .170 ISO, .372 wOBA and 142 wRC+ in 408 plate appearances against southpaws since 2024.
- Mike Yastrzemski has hit seven home runs with a .291 OBP, .226 ISO, .319 wOBA and 101 wRC+ in 148 plate appearances against righties at home this season.
