The Fantasy Footballers
Kenyan Drake (RB - MIA)
Tue, Jul 2
Player Note on Kenyan Drake (RB - MIA)
Forever locked in fantasy football hell with Adam Gase as the Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins, Drake has now been set free! Under the new coaching staff, Drake stands to see a boost in overall touches this season and he has the talent to elevate himself into the Top-15 RB conversation. My only concern is the overall team talent and how many times Drake will be in scoring opportunities in 2019.
David Montgomery (RB - CHI)
Tue, Jul 2
Player Note on David Montgomery (RB - CHI)
Montgomery steps into a dynamic offense and immediately becomes the starting running back for the Chicago Bears. Montgomery displayed exceptional elusiveness, vision and receiving ability in college and this sets him up extremely well to have a solid rookie campaign. Even with all the weapons there in Chicago, Montgomery is going to receive a ton of volume week in and week out. He's a solid RB2 for your fantasy team that you can get right now in the mid to late rounds.
Chris Godwin (WR - TB)
Tue, Jul 2
Player Note on Chris Godwin (WR - TB)
Chris Godwin will reportedly be stepping into the Larry Fitzgerald role this season in Bruce Arians' system. This will lead to an increased amount of targets for the young and talented wideout, which could mean fantasy gold at his current ADP. The Bucs are going to be airing the ball out this season and Godwin stands to be competing with Mike Evans for the majority of the targets there. Even if we see Godwin's YPR come down, he's still an extremely intriguing fantasy option and is about as solid of a WR2 option as you can get for your team.
Antonio Brown (WR - OAK)
Tue, Jul 2
Player Note on Antonio Brown (WR - OAK)
Antonio Brown now shifts from the Steelers to the Oakland Raiders and now has to begin life without Big Ben throwing him the ball. While Brown will still be a target monster in Oakland, it's easy to expect some drop-off in production due to the difference from Big Ben to Derek Carr throwing him the ball. Brown will still have every opportunity to succeed, but it's important to remember that the days of 1,500+ receiving yards for Antonio is most likely over.
Michael Thomas (WR - NO)
Tue, Jul 2
Player Note on Michael Thomas (WR - NO)
Michael Thomas has proven that he has some of the best (if not THE best) hands in the NFL. He's a focal point of the Sean Payton offense and the Saints did little to change that perception this offseason. My only concern is whether or not we've begun to see the beginning of the end of Drew Brees, but whether that's the case or not, Thomas will still be an elite PPR option.
Josh Jacobs (RB - OAK)
Tue, Jul 2
Player Note on Josh Jacobs (RB - OAK)
While underutilized at Alabama, Jacobs constantly displayed the talent that warranted his 1st round selection. He now enters an offense that is committed to running the ball and Jacobs is going to be the centerpiece. He's a well rounded running back and should be an immediate fantasy star right out of the gate.
George Kittle (TE - SF)
Sun, Jun 30
Player Note on George Kittle (TE - SF)
We saw a complete emergence from George Kittle in 2018 that has lead to unimaginable hype for the young TE. With that being said, there's reason to be cautious with Kittle moving forward. We've seen a very small sample size with Kittle and Garoppolo and the 49ers added a bunch of other weapons to that offense this offseason. Kittle will still be heavily involved, but we may not see 1,300 receiving yards from him again in 2019...Temper your expectations, but still feel confident drafting Kittle in the 4th-5th rounds of your redraft leagues.
Patrick Mahomes (QB - KC)
Sun, Jun 30
Player Note on Patrick Mahomes (QB - KC)
Without Tyreek Hill, it's hard to imagine 5,000 yards and 50 Touchdowns again from Patrick Mahomes. With that being said, he's still projected to be my Top QB this season and he should be the first QB off the board in fantasy drafts.
Adam Thielen (WR - MIN)
Sun, Jun 30
Player Note on Adam Thielen (WR - MIN)
The Vikings are going to have a new dedication to running the ball this season, but that doesn't mean there still won't be massive opportunities for Thielen in this offense. Kirk Cousins and Thielen clearly have chemistry together and there's no reason to doubt Thielen's ability to repeat as a Top-12 WR next season.
Mark Ingram (RB - BAL)
Sun, Jun 30
Player Note on Mark Ingram (RB - BAL)
Mark Ingram is a screaming value at his current ADP. The Ravens have reinforced their offensive philosophy to run the ball this offseason and Ingram is going to be at the center of it all. 220+ carries isn't out of the question for Ingram and there will be running lanes galore for him as defenses attempt to eliminate Lamar Jackson's running abilities. Ingram is the perfect RB to snag in the mid-rounds of your draft and roll out week after week.
