Notes
Great 2019 but I just don't buy it. (Hypocritical considering I am a Danny Santana buyer I realize). I don't even consider a drop-off in 2020 regression because I don't believe 2019 was anything close to what he actually is. I won't draft him in any league unless he falls outside the Top 100.
Chris Mitchell - FantasyData
He's no longer Ground Chuck, as the Astros and Rays were able to tap into the electric stuff that Morton has. It's hard to argue with the success that he's had over the past few seasons, but what hurts Morton - and fantasy managers - is that the breakout came late in his career. He's 35, and he said he "fully expects" to hang up his cleats at the end of his current contract. If he's the same pitcher as he has been the past few years, you're getting a steal here. But age and durability concerns have to be on your mind if you draft him.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
If you draft a Tampa Bay position player - especially this year - you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Well, except for Austin Meadows. The Rays have so many platoon options on their team, but Meadows is one of the few players who are locked into an everyday role. Meadows finally lived up to his prospect pedigree last season, and there's room for more growth if he can channel the speed that he flashed in the minors. The big thing to watch with Meadows is how he performs against lefties, but don't overthink it - especially in that division."
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Morton only got better after leaving the Astros, setting career bests in innings pitched, ERA, WHIP, and strikeout percentage. Batters simply don't hit his curveball, which he throws more than a third of the time, and his fastball is nearly equally as effective. In a dynasty or keeper format, things may be different, as Morton speaks of retirement often. For this year, however, there is zero reason for concern.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Some big time potential here if you are willing to take on the injury risk.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
Had the best season of his career in 2019. If he comes close to matching it his ADP will make him a big-time value
Brendan Tuma - BettingPros
Love the player but ADP is just a tad too rich for my blood
