Notes
Because the Dodgers wanted to closely watch Buehler's routine and workload, he got a late start to the shortened season, essentially using his first few starts as the end of his spring training. He also dealt with blisters late in the year. All that to say, Buehler's 36 2/3 regular-season innings are, for the most part, largely meaningless. He gave up a few more home runs and walked a few more batters than usual, and he won just a single game. But none of it matters. Value Buehler as you did after his 2019 season - as one of the true stud pitchers in the game. Once the big three of Jacob deGrom, Gerrit Cole, and Shane Bieber are off the board, Buehler should come under immediate consideration, as the type of starting pitcher who can be your fantasy ace.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Bichette missed about half the season with a knee injury last year, but was productive when he was on the field, batting .301 with an .840 OPS. His 162-game pace was 28 home runs, 100 runs, 128 RBI, and 22 steals, so he was well on his way to earning his lofty draft price. If there was a wart to Bichette's season it was that his walk rate dropped to just 3.9%, one of the worst in the league. But, given that he had just 128 plate appearances, that's likely just the product of a small sample size, since he never walked at less than a 6.6% clip in his career. Batting in a stacked lineup, Bichette should once again put up strong five-category numbers, and should be one of the first shortstops drafted in fantasy leagues again in 2020.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
There's little doubt that Buehler is one of the most talented starting pitchers in baseball, but we do have questions about his volume entering 2021. Did you know that during the regular season, Buehler had just one appearance where he completed six full innings? This wasn't just a Dodgers thing, either. Julio Urias had five such appearances while Tony Gonsolin had four and Dustin May had three. Of course, the team was saving Buehler for the playoffs more so than their other youngsters, and it worked out. The Dodgers have always handled Buehler with kid gloves, and while he'll be one of the best starters on a per-inning basis in 2021, I'm worried enough about the volume that I'm ranking him closer to the back half of my top-10 starters.
Brendan Tuma - FantasyPros
Bo Bichette slashed .301/.328/.512 with five home runs and four stolen bases across 128 plate appearances in 2020. The 22-year-old has successfully swiped eight bases in just 13 attempts in his MLB career, but has yet to flash the speed he displayed in the minors. He has a ton of upside and should once again produce in a loaded Blue Jays lineup. Bichette has plenty of room for growth and is considered a top-10 middle-infield option in 2021.
Brad Camara - FantasyPros
Frankly, I've been shocked to see how high Bichette is going in fantasy drafts so far this offseason. We're spending second-round picks on a player with just 75 big league games to his name? Of course, his 162-game pace equates to 35 homers and 17 stolen bases, and Toronto's lineup only got better this winter. There are a lot of reasons to be bullish on Bichette these days, but I can't pass on established studs like Xander Bogaerts and Nolan Arenado for him. Perhaps Bichette's aggressive ADP is due to the need for stolen bases. In that case, it's worth pointing out that the youngster is just 8-for-13 in theft attempts to begin his career.
