Notes
Correa has missed a significant chunk of time in each of the past two seasons, and while he struggled in 2018, don't forget that he is still just 24 years old and one year removed from being the MVP front-runner prior to his injury. There is major upside here and he may prove to be a league winner
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
It might not feel sexy drafting Segura, but you can expect a .300+ batting average and 20+ steals for the fourth consecutive season from him. If he finally plays a full season, we may be looking at a 20/30 year with a .310 batting average which would make Segura a top 25 fantasy asset
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Correa was an elite prospect who took the league by storm as a rookie in 2015, but his last two seasons have been undone by injuries. In 2017, he was producing like an MVP candidate before tearing a ligament in his thumb in July. Last year, his season never got off the ground due to back issues and breathing problems. Correa has pronounced himself fully healthy this spring, making him a seemingly strong bounce-back candidate, but with his stolen base totals drying up over the last two seasons, he will need to find his way to 30+ HRs or a .300 average in order to fully live up to the hype.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Segura's production has fluctuated wildly from year to year since his breakout 2013 season. He's hit as low as .246 and as high as .319, stolen as few as 20 bases and as many as 44, and hit as few as five home runs and as many as 20. But of late he has seemed to settle in as a .300-10-20 type of player and should theoretically benefit from an improved lineup and home ballpark now that he's in Philadelphia. He's a logical choice if you miss out on the top-10 shortstops.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Injuries have limited Correa to 109 and 110 games over the last two seasons, respectively. He stole five bases combined and saw his wOBA plummet from .394 to .313, which was even higher than his .306 xwOBA. Because of his age (24) and instant success upon reaching the majors, there's little discount after the down year. He's too risky in the top-three rounds, but it's hard to ignore the MVP upside if he slips.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
After hitting .300 with 11 homers and 22 steals in 2017, Segura was undervalued in 2018 drafts. He followed up the useful decline from 2016's breakout by batting .304 with 10 homers and 20 steals last season. He's undervalued again. Of the 28 players who stole at least 20 bases in 2018, only 10 hit over .280. Moving to Citizens Bank Park could help him smack a few more long balls and potentially score another 90-plus runs if batting high in a replenished lineup. Simply repeating recent performance would make him worth a look anywhere outside the top-50 picks in 5x5 roto formats.
