Blue Jays second baseman Cavan Biggo returned to action on Thursday, but he is not 100 percent yet. He said the pinkie injury he suffered on Monday came when the finger "bent in the way it shouldn’t bend." He added that he suffered a blood blister that had to be drained and is still sore, though the ailment is "nothing that I haven’t dealt with before."

Altuve had a rough 2020 season (like most Astros offensive players), but it was particularly drastic for him. After batting .298 (which was low for him) with 31 home runs in 2019, he batted just .219 with five home runs last year, and he struck out more than he ever had before. But, like his counterpart in the middle infield, Carlos Correa, Altuve had a strong postseason, slashing .375/.500/.720 with five home runs. It's reasonable to write off Altuve's regular season as a slump that he would have broken out of in light of his postseason, though with just eight steals combined over his previous two seasons, stolen bases may not be a big part of his game going forward (though his sprint speed is still excellent). Expect a bounce-back campaign in most categories, and take the undervalued Altuve as a solid starting second baseman.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Biggio doesn't hit the ball particularly well and is passive almost to a fault. He swung at just 36% of the pitches he saw last year, third-fewest in MLB, and that represents a continued trend. That passivity leads to increased strikeouts, but also plenty of walks, as Biggio took a free pass 15.5% of the time last season, which ranked in the top 8 percent of baseball. Despite not making consistently strong contact, Biggio has hit 24 home runs in his 159 major league games, and he's added on 107 runs and 20 steals. Those numbers play extremely well for fantasy, particularly at the weak second base position. Biggio is likely to add third base eligibility with the Blue Jays' addition of Marcus Semien, which should only add to his value, and he makes a fine pick if you can nab him in the fifth round or so where his ADP generally lands.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
The former American League MVP is going right inside the top-100 players according to the latest FantasyPros consensus ADP. It feels as if we're knocking him down too far based off a "down" 2020, especially when you factor in how many free passes the industry appears to be giving for the weirdness of last season. While Altuve's regular season numbers leave a lot to be desired, his season-long wRC+ increases from 77 to 112 when you include his postseason numbers. His batting average increases from .219 to .250. With how small of a sample the regular season was, I think it's more than fair to include playoff numbers for players who went deep into the tournament.
Brendan Tuma - FantasyPros
Too many holes in Biggio's batting profile for me to draft him at his inflated ADP. It also looks like he will open the season batting 7th which is not ideal as I do not see him hitting his way into a top 3 spot in the order.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
Biggio has posted elite walk rates in his first two seasons in the majors and he's 20-for-20 in stolen base attempts to begin his career. This makes him a useful player in several formats, raising his floor. However, his batted ball data is admittedly worrisome, and his profile looks like the type that could be affected by a deadened ball this season. Further complicating the situation is the Blue Jays' offseason addition of Marcus Semien, leaving Biggio without a true defensive home on the roster. There's enough downside here for me to be fading him at his current ADP.
