News
Corey Knebel has officially chosen to receive Tommy John surgery. This comes after Knebel pitched with a partially torn UCL for several years. The recovery process will surely see him miss the 2019 season. Knebel's return, in a best case scenario, will be Spring Training 2020.

Notes
An intriguing bounce-back selection, Knebel is dealing with a UCL injury that has Brewers manager Craig Counsell concerned. Although one of the game's elite strikeout artists over the last two seasons, late drafters should avoid him in case the worst scenario is confirmed. Josh Hader could see more save opportunities, but the Brewers could still sign Craig Kimbrel or put someone else into the ninth-inning role so their best reliever can keep working in high-leverage spots.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Boxberger is expected to hold off Peralta for the Royals' closer job, and while it may not be the most envied role, he should still be able to compile 20 to 25 saves if he can hang onto the job. His ratios won't be ideal, but he does offer some K-upside as we've seen before.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Knebel entered 2018 as the Brewers' obvious closer, but between injuries and inconsistency, he barely edged out Jeremy Jeffress and Josh Hader for the team lead in saves. All three relievers have dominant stuff and a proven ability to succeed in the ninth inning, but it remains to be seen whether manager Craig Counsell will deploy any of them as the regular closer following last season's success with a committee approach. Until we hear otherwise, consider Knebel the favorite to serve as the head of a committee. Even if he isn't the exclusive closer, Knebel can help enough in other areas (Ks, ERA, WHIP) to be well worth rostering.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros

Knebel was injured and had a rough year, but still tallied up 88 strikeouts in 55 innings with a killer WHIP. Expect the ERA to improve closer to that 1.78 rate from 2017, and with that and a full bill of health should come a bounceback to 30 or even 40 saves.
