Notes
He needs to do what I think he can do, but that lack of proof hasn't prevented me from ranking him where I think he deserves to be. He has 200K full-season stuff that the 60 game sprint should make even more valuable. I like the schedule and the parks he will pitch in too.
Chris Mitchell - FantasyData
Fried is a popular breakout pick, but will the limitation early on his innings be too much for him to be a top 35 pitcher?
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Lamet has one amazing pitch right now, and there's a chance they he can take the next step forward to become a top 25 pitcher. But if you're going to draft Robbie Ray, Jr., why not just draft Robbie Ray?
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Fried's 2019 was positive, but his 4.02 ERA and 1.33 WHIP left a lot to be desired. His 17 wins and solid strikeout rate masked some of the issues, but he certainly doesn't look like a pitcher ready to jump into the upper echelon. Still, Fried's FIP and xFIP were lower than his ERA, and his expected stats showed he had some bad luck. Put it all together and Fried's a decent option with upside, but not one who you should expect to lead your fantasy rotation in 2020.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Lamet is a popular breakout candidate this year, after he returned from Tommy John surgery to throw 73 innings of solid baseball last year. Lamet is still much more potential than numbers - he hasn't dominated a level above A-ball and has questionable control. But his raw stuff, particularly his slider and curveball, are impressive, and he can miss bats with the best of them. They'll be no discount for Lamet this year, but if you're looking for upside, he's worth the gamble.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Fried likely has the highest fantasy ceiling of all Braves pitchers and certainly the most strikeout potential. You just have to be okay with the growing pains that come along with it.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
I am a little confused about all the Dinelson Lamet love. I know he has nasty stuff, but he is now 27 years old, he had Tommy John Surgery in 2018 and he has never pitched more than 150 innings in any year of his major league career. He has also shown inconsistencies. Drafting him over a guy like Matt Boyd, for example, is crazy to me.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy

Only has two plus pitches and might eventually profile best as a reliever
