| Even in a shortened year, it was a tale of two seasons for Mondesi. In 35 games in July and August, he batted just .186 with 11 runs, two RBI, no home runs, and eight steals. In his final 24 games, he batted .356 with six home runs, 22 runs scored, 20 RBI, and 16 steals. In the end, Mondesi delivered exactly the type of season that fantasy managers have come to expect, and his 24 steals were eight more than the next highest total. Mondesi won't help in batting average and offers minimal power, but he's an unmatched source of steals. And given that much of his lackluster first month can probably be written off to offseason shoulder surgery, fantasy managers should be able to expect closer to the second-half version of Mondesi rather than the firs this year. Since he's been New York, he's provided elite all-around production, most notably in batting average, where he has batted .336. He's blossomed into a 25-home run hitter with plenty of runs and RBI, and a handful of steals that chip in with the category. Add to that LeMahieu's multi-position eligibility and he is a huge asset to every fantasy team. | Overall the final three weeks of the 2020 season, Mondesi was the hottest hitter in baseball. After failing to live up to his preseason expectations for most of the year, Mondesi hit .376 with 16 (!!) stolen bases over his final 93 plate appearances. It would be easy to argue that he won fantasy leagues down the stretch if it wasn't for such a brutal showing at the plate leading up to it. Still, this is the type of monstrous stolen base upside that'll keep us invested entering 2021. It goes without saying that Mondesi's value increases in roto leagues. He should be viewed as a wildly volatile player to draft. Brendan Tuma - FantasyPros | Over the past two season "DJL" has posted a 183 wRC+ while playing at home compared to a 112 figure on the road. Of course, it's always helpful to be hitting in Yankee Stadium. This makes the fact that he re-signed with the Yankees an important one. LeMahieu is going to keep playing half of his games inside Yankee Stadium. The first modern player to win batting titles in both leagues, LeMahieu's presence on the Yankees means that he's the No. 1 fantasy second baseman for this fantasy writer.
