Notes
Neris tested positive for COVID-19 but is back in camp and looks good to go for the regular season. He morphed into a reliable option in the ninth inning for the Phillies last year, and should be so again assuming his health permits.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Doolittle doesn't have a tight grasp on the closer's gig, but people seem to be overreacting slightly about him not getting the first crack at saves.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
If Neris is the guy in Philly, he'll finish a lot higher than the 153rd player.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Doolittle should likely close for the Nationals again in 2020, though Daniel Hudson's emergence in the late- and post-season last year could throw a wrench in Davey Martinez's plans. More concerning is Doolittle's dip in performance, as his ERA and WHIP were by far the worst of his career. A free agent next year, Doolittle's job security should be minimal, so don't target him as a closer in your fantasy drafts.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Doolittle came on strong during the playoffs and we've seen him dominate before but the full picture of his 2019 season was one of mediocrity. Should he return to that rate, he may be the first closer to lose his job with Daniel Hudson closely lurking behind.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
