There's a tendency to think Lewis came out of nowhere in 2020. That just isn't true as he was Seattle's 11th overall pick back in the 2016 amateur draft. A devastating knee injury delayed the start of his pro career and Lewis ultimately fell out of top prospect rankings. He made his big league debut in 2019, hitting six homers in 18 games to close out the year. The reports on him were high entering summer camp, and Lewis homered off Justin Verlander on Opening Day. Unfortunately, strikeouts became a concern. Through August 31st Lewis had a 24.8% K-rate. That figure ballooned to 37.1% in September. Lewis was a fantastic story in 2020. That doesn't mean we should overvalue him entering 2021. Brendan Tuma - FantasyPros | Playing time? Jordan Eisen - Field of Vision Sports | |
Cronenworth wound up being one of the best waiver pickups of the 2020 season. He provided a great batting average (.285) with multi-position eligibility. The counting stats - mainly the four homers and three steals - left a lot to be desired, however. Cronenworth ultimately profiles as a better "real life" player than he does as a fantasy option. Still, in deeper roto leagues that use batting average, his contact skills and defensive versatility give him a fantastic floor. I just don't expect him to be a fantasy difference-maker in most 10-12 team leagues. Brendan Tuma - FantasyPros |
