Anthony Rizzo is not focused on his $16.5M contract option that the Cubs can exercise for 2021.
Carmen Maiorano - Carm's Clubhouse

Kris Bryant went 1-for-4 on Sunday with a solo homer off of Reynaldo Lopez and the White Sox. He also walked once and finished the day with two runs and two RBI. The Cubs won, 10-8.
Carmen Maiorano - Carm's Clubhouse
Sun, Sep 27th
Anthony Rizzo homered in the top of the first inning Wednesday to put the Cubs up 1-0. It was his 11th of the season and second in two days. For the second straight game, the Rizzo blast was the only time the Cubs scored.

Kris Bryant was back in the Cubs' lineup on Saturday against the White Sox, hitting fifth and playing third base. He went 2-for-4 with a two-out grand slam against Dane Dunning in the fourth inning, and hit a sharp single through the right side of the infield in his previous at-bat. The Cubs lost, 9-5.
Carmen Maiorano - Carm's Clubhouse
Sun, Sep 27th
Anthony Rizzo drove an eighth-inning pitch into the rightfield stands to tie the game. It was his 10th home run of the season, and the first to come with a runner on.

Wed, Sep 23rd
Kris Bryant, who has been sidelined with an oblique injury, is back in the Cubs lineup, playing third and batting fifth on Saturday against the White Sox, as the Cubs try and clinch the NL Central division title.
Ryan Coleman
Sat, Sep 26th
Anthony Rizzo walked to lead off the bottom of the first inning Friday. He would come around to score and the run would hold up as the Cubs would win 1-0.

Kris Bryant (oblique) is still absent from the Cubs' lineup on Thursday against the Pirates.
Brendan Tuma - Too Much Tuma
Thu, Sep 24th
Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-4 on Tuesday with a hit-by-pitch and RBI against the Indians. The Cubs won, 6-5.
Carmen Maiorano - Carm's Clubhouse

With Kris Bryant's profile, it's hard to justify taking him this high when there are guys who can give you the same production at the position later in the draft. The return to 31 home run was nice, yes, but his batted ball data points to that being the near-ceiling for Bryant in terms of home runs. For all of his accolades and loaded offenses that he's been in, he's only produced more than 100 RBIs once in his career.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
I consider 1B's less valuable and while Rizzo is a heck of a hitter, I can't draft them or him as high as equal or dual-threat guys. I do still take him before the next tier of SP, which begins with Castillo and Corbin.
Chris Mitchell - FantasyData
One of my biggest fades this season. Advanced stats say he did not earn all of his HRs or his batting average, he has missed time each of the last two seasons, his SB upside is limited, and he he is in the middle of whirling trade rumors. Hard pass.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
It's like the fantasy community finally caught on to Rizzo. For years, he's gone in the first few rounds of drafts, but there was really no justification for it. Even now, going 43rd overall is early for Rizzo, who fails to stand out in any real way. He's a poor man's Freddie Freeman, but, like, really poor. The power production has dipped, too, and that's in an age where you need your first baseman to hit home runs. If you want to grab him as a safe play at a shallow position, go for it, but you're passing up on better talent to do so.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
28-year-old had a fine 2019 season but are we sure there is still a lot of upside with his bat? Statcast says he may have even overachieved last year
Brendan Tuma - BettingPros
About as safe as you can get. Great pick if you take risks elsewhere.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
 appears due for BA regression
Al Melchior - The Athletic
Consistent but lacking upside at this stage of his career. Receives a boost in OBP leagues
Brendan Tuma - BettingPros
