Cain didn't experience the power growth that many were expecting when he moved from Kansas City to Milwaukee, and his fantasy value was somewhat lessened by an absurdly low RBI count (38). But he did hit north of .300 for the fourth time in five seasons and collected a career-high 30 stolen bases. It's probably time to accept that he is not going to be a 20 HR guy, but he doesn't need to be one to be a top-50 hitter in standard 5x5 leagues. And he could be even better than that if everything clicks and he goes .300-15-30 with over 100 runs scored.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Albies got off to a torrid start in his first full season in the Big Leagues, hitting nine home runs in April and heading into the All Star break with 20 HRs and nine steals. He struggled mightily in the second half of the season, but still finished as a top-three second basemen in standard 5x5 formats. There are some concerns that the Braves' acquisition of Josh Donaldson could push Albies down towards the bottom half of the lineup, hurting his counting stats and ability to steal bases, but it's also possible he'll stick in one of the first two lineup spots. Regardless, Albies has already proven he has 20-20 potential and should even be able to improve a bit on last season's .261 batting average.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Cain joined Mookie Betts and Whit Merrifield as the only players to hit .300 with 10 homers and 30 steals last season. He set career highs in walk and hard-hit rates atop Milwaukee's lineup, leading to 90 runs scores in 141 games. Yet a troubling injury past and ageism is keeping the veteran outfielder outside the top-five rounds. Having hit at least .300 with 10 homers and 25 steals in three of the last four seasons, he's a relatively safe bargain to target for a speed foundation.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Anyone who drafted Albies was already miles into a victory lap by the time his performance plummeted. After already validating an investment with 20 homers and nine steals in the first half, he hit a gruesome .226/.282/.342 with four homers and five steals after the All-Star break. His hard-hit rate dipped from 38.5 to 27.0%. He procured 16 homers in 1,744 minor league plate appearances, so drafters should be dubious of a full power repeat regardless of the steep splits. The bigger concern is whether he can fix his late contact woes, particularly his 39.6% outside-swing rate. If maintaining last year's .305 OBP, the Braves will eliminate any chance of another 105-run campaign by hitting their youngster sixth or seventh more often than first or second. There's too much upside to fade Albies entirely, but a top-50 pick is too rich.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
In the past five years, Cain is one of only 15 players averaging a .300 batting average, and among them, he is 2nd behind only Jose Altuve with 126 steals. There isn't much in the way of power, but you can bank on him contributing in all five categories with plenty of durablity.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Albies is dripping with potential and there is no denying that after his 20 homer first half with 9 steals. With that said, his second half was dreadful, batting .226 with just 4 bombs. There is a chance he returns first round value, but the downside would torch your team if he returns to second half form.
