Matt Olson went 0-for-2 with a walk in Thursday’s match up with the Dodgers. He is hitting .125 with a .550 OPS so far this spring.

Notes
Fifty-three home runs. Pete Alonso surpassed the lofty expectations that he had entering his rookie year, and while you can attribute some of that to the ball, Alonso's power is still among the most elite in the game. Is he going to give you a lot of home runs and RBIs but not much elsewhere? Yeah, probably, but here's the thing with the argument that he's going to give you stats that are easy to find elsewhere - you need even more to win those categories now. If everyone is hitting bombs, get the guy who can out-homer them - especially at a top-heavy position like first base.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Remember when a broken hamate bone was supposed to zap power? Matt Olson laughed at that notion, as he still hit 36 home runs last season after suffering the injury in the first week of the season. Olson is a popular target in the industry, and it makes sense, given his job security, power, and production. There are concerns about his home ballpark and his numbers against lefties, but if you miss out on the first wave of first basemen, this is your last chance to grab a true contender to finish top three at the position.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
It feels odd that a rookie can hit 53 homers with 120 RBIs then end up draft towards the end of the third round but that's exactly what we have here. 60 homrs is a real possibility but then again, so are 35 homers with a .235 batting average, similar to the disappointment fantasy owners had with Hoskins last season.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
After two years of a low BABIP, Olson's BA finally jumped to .267. It isn't probable he will offer more than that but fantasy owners know 50 HRs and 120 RBIs is truly within reach if he doesn't miss a full month this season.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
If chasing upside, I prefer Olson to Rizzo. If Olson stays healthy, I can see a HR title type year.
